Marchese Sant'Andrea B&B

We stayed one night in Licata while making our way around Sicily in a rental car. I chose Licata as it was a convenient overnight stop for us (two couples in two rooms) between Valley of the Temples/Agrigento and Ragusa, and also because we wanted to dine at La Madia, the 2-star Michelin restaurant. We were here in April and we encountered no other tourists. B&B Sant’Andrea is located on a narrow street just off the main boulevard that runs along the sea, and is also not far from the piazza. If traveling by car you will need to park (it’s free) along the boulevard and take the short walk to the B&B. Angelo came to our car and helped us with our bags. The rooms we had were accessed by an inner courtyard with a locking gate. There are stairs. The rooms are simple but they have kitchenettes and private baths are very nicely kept and very clean. The balconies face out to the little street. If you are looking for luxury, you will want to stay elsewhere, however I found everything about this B&B quite nice and charming, and I felt like we were experiencing something authentic. Breakfast was served on the ground floor in a cozy eating space which doubles as the reception area. We enjoyed freshly made coffee and a generous spread of juices, pastries, breads, fruit, yogurt, and cereals. They also provided gluten-free options for my husband, which I had requested in advance. Our hostess and Angelo were extremely friendly and accommodating, and if we ever return to Licata, we would stay here again without hesitation.
