I Tetti Di Sassari BB

Our hosts were very helpful and spoke English. The apartment is on the fifth floor of an incongruously modern six-storey block accessed by a small lift commencing a half-dozen steps above the street level hallway. On only one occasion did one of us have to walk the five storeys (down luckily!) as someone had omitted to close both sets of lift doors. The accommodation was kept beautifully clean with linen changed half-way through our six night visit. The bathroom was across the corridor from our room. One needs to keep doors shut to ensure a curious cat does not wander in. Neither of us managed to have a shower with a constant temperature. One might get a suitable temperature to start with but then the water would go cold or too hot. We were delighted that there was a fridge in the room. Breakfast was a problem for someone without 'a sweet tooth'. There was a large variety of sweet biscuits and cakes and even the bottled fruit juice had added sugar. I was relieved to see there was plain yoghort and fresh fruit but, on seeing our liking for fruit, Daniela cut generous amounts up and added sweetened juice. I nearly cried. Even after remonstrating about creme caramel, tiramisu appeared the following day! These sweet puddings were delicious as a rare treat but not for breakfast! However, on the last two days, Daniela made caprese and served other cheese and ham with, at last, plain bread. As I said, she tried hard! The proximity to the old town, the fabulous views and the charming hosts overcome these little 'niggles' and we hope to return.
