Borgo delle XIII Fontane

This has to be one of the most special properties that I've ever stayed in. I've spent literally the majority of my life over the past few years on the road. Out of dozens of places I've stayed in, Borgo sticks out as a pretty special place. In terms of setting, Borgo is in a grove of olive trees on top of a hill overlooking the countryside. There's nothing to disturb you; no other tourists to trip over. Yet you're also close enough to easily drive into Sassari, Alghero or beaches when you want more activity. The "rooms" are actually mini-houses. It has a sleeping area, living room and terrace. And you'll notice that everything is styled uniquely and with great taste. Combine that with a beautiful swimming pool area, and you start to realize that this place is actually a boutique hotel. And yes, they have proper wifi. The hosts are fantastic. And they're helped by a very cute family of dogs and cats. They clearly have an eye for detail, yet an attitude of flexibility. Their hospitality is genuine and warm. So if you're looking for a place to relax and recover, stay here. I wholeheartedly recommend it. Some tips for when you stay: - Have dinner at least once at the property. Between the home-cooked goodness and ambiance, we did it a few times. - The terrace on your mini-house is perfect for an evening drink at sunset. Bring a bottle of something and chill it in the fridge. - The driveway up the hill is a bit intimidating the first time, but you'll get the hang of it. First gear was our friend. - To navigate to the property, Google Maps has it accurately mapped.
