We visited Rome as the last stop on our 10 day Italian road trip. 
Found the apartment through a friend's recommendation and we weren't disappointed !
Situated within a stones throw of St Peter's Basilica on the walls of the Vatican City this tranquil oasis allowed us to escape the hustle and bustle of Rome after a busy day's exploration. 
The rooms were well appointed and spacious with fantastic amenities and easy access to all transport links. 
The sky terrace itself is the jewel in the crown. Lounging areas, dining table for 6 and room to soak up Italy's glorious sunshine all amid a lush tropically planted terrace added to the high class feel of the accommodation. 
We would not hesitate to come back here again or to recommend it to anyone.

very nice and clean place with wonderful terrace from wich you can admire michelangelo's dome. the staff was extreamely helpful and nice. the bed and breakfast is five min walk from st. peter's square, however the closest metro station is twenty min walk. breakfast was not abundand but it was pretty decent. i highly reccomend this b&b for your stay in rome

We had reserved 6 nights at Saint Peter Sky Terrace BnB, and only stayed one under force. Yes - it's that disappointing.

Our initial disappointment was with the location. It's on an odd street that runs under the train tracks, on the 'wrong' side of the Vatican City - the opposite side from the museum entrance, and at least a 10 minute walk from a metro stop, and a 20 minute walk to the major shopping streets of Rome. The sidewalks in that area are not wide, and while it is close to several restaurants - they are not what one would call gourmet. The shopping is similarly local - ok if you are looking for plumbing supplies, not so much fun if you are a tourist.

On the good news side - there is a lovely looking pastry shop next door to the rather forbidding entrance, and there are several pizza parlors within a few doors.

The staff could not have been more helpful - so I would give them 5 stars for that. Unfortunately, great staff doesn't solve every issue.

After several emails during the day checking on our arrival time, we finally found the place - only to discover that the elevator had not been working since Friday - and this was Monday night. Since the Sky Terrace is on the 3rd floor - this made it extremely awkward for older guests with lots of luggage. And these were hardly normal size floors - the ceilings are at least 20 feet high - so we're talking a huge climb. Unacceptable if you don't make it clear the guests that this is the case.

On the positive side - the staff did gladly help us carry the suitcases up - and then down again the next morning - complaining as they did so that the elevator wasn't working!

Worse - the plumbing in the room we were given was unbelievably noisy. There was a loud high pitched hum that continued long after the toilet had been flushed. We showed it to the staff - who said they would call a plumber. I guess no one else had mentioned it. Even worse - the noise from the plumbing in the bathroom next to ours was noisy beyond belief. 

As soon as we realized that there was a problem with the elevator - we explained that we would have great difficulty staying at the BnB. The best the staff could do was offer to only charge us for 2 nights, even though we would only stay one. We suggested moving immediately - but they said that even so we would be charged. Given that - We had no choice, it was quite late and the challenge of getting our luggage back down to the ground level was mentally daunting to say the least. So we had to stay that night. We left first thing this morning.

Bottom line - having stayed all over the world, in all kinds of different bed and breakfasts, hostels, and hotels, I am very disappointed in the Saint Peter Sky Terrace. The location is quite bad - much further than advertised from the center of the city. They made no effort to alert us to the problem with the elevator, even though they knew long enough ahead for us to have canceled without charge, and they seem unaware of the extremely noisy plumbing.

The place itself is quite cute, hard wood floors and a lovely kitchen (that you could not use to cook in - so what is the point?) - but it was not worth paying 2 nights to stay for only 1. 

I will give them some points for breakfast - while eggs, ham, and cheese were only available for a 10 euro surcharge, they did provide fresh fruit, Corn Flakes, various coffees, and juice. I did not notice any croissants - but I did spot some slices of white bread.

I am truly sorry that I can not give them a very positive review - and I would definitely not recommend them to other guests, unless your primary interest is in the Vatican.

You can do much better for a similar price much closer to the 'action' of Rome. Give this one a skip. I'm just sorry we didn't.

Disappointing - and to be avoided would be my suggestion

We did not like this place. The "hotel" is on the third floor of an ancient building, where other families and offices are based. Saint Peter is not far, true, but if you see the Street of this hotel you can understand why we believe we never return to this place again.  In the Aurelia Street there is no legal parking place to leave the car overnight. Rooms are not sound-proof and you can hear other guests when they talk, laugh, yell, or snoar. On the Street of the hotel you can find a chinese restaurant, an Italian restaurant and three huge and smelly rubbish bins. The elevator is quite tiny and narrow. Staff is one person and she is in the place only for a limited working hours time: this means if you check in outside their planned working hours you are requested to pay  extra money (35 euros they wrote us). Breakfast is differenciated into two "typologies" : the right room has the right to receive ham and cheese typology, while the kitchen room can receive one hot drink, one yogurt, some bread, and some juice. The bread we touched was not fresh. We were three witnesses and this was unacceptable, as bakers are normally open during Saturdays. You are requested to sit on the same single kitchen-table with other guests, so be ready to introduce yourself and talk in different languages.  If we travel to Rome again, we would need having a larger choice of "hotels", otherwise we give up and cancel the trip.  We do not like the system of these apartments-hotels where check-ins and outs are depending on the working hours of the local staff.
