Agriturismo la Lecciola

La Lecciola was a most pleasant surprise and the highlight of our stay in Italy; a true gem nested in the hills of eastern Elba, with amazing views and beautiful nature. A former mining town nearby, a 15th century fort on a hill, and a multitude of towns, villages and beaches, all within half an hour drive by car (walking/hiking takes a bit longer, not by much, and is more than worth it for the sheer beauty of the place). The house we were staying in is spotlessly clean, has all the amenities one could wish for, and is amazingly stylish. From the front porch the view stretches from the farm and the vineyard and the olive and oak trees, across the hills, to the sea and the mainland in the distance. Beautiful, quiet, cosy. The place even has its own microclimate! The host, Giulia, and her family are astonishingly welcoming, helpful, and friendly. The warmth and charm of their hospitality are to be treasured.
