Hotel San Carlo

In my one week tour of some Italian regions with my family we stopped in S Carlo hotel for two nights. We arrived in the morning at about nine and they kindly let us in our room. We didn't pre booked so have been quite lucky to find a place in this busy holiday period. The room was on the third floor on the sea front ,so the view was spectacular. The position on the main promenade by the sea front made this hotel so convenient for al sort of things,like going for a stroll,to the beach,jogging or cycling as there is a long bicycle path all along the promenade. The well know seaside town Forte dei Marmi is only a couple of kms away. We liked to move a bit further from the many bathhouses and found a nice beach were you can put freely your own umbrella and sunbathe or go into the clear sea as much as you like. Mind you August is a very busy time so you might find your neighbour very close to you! And it's also very hot... Not far from the hotel you can find a supermarket, all sort of shops, pizzerias, cafes, ice cream parlour. Our room wasn't that large for three people but ensuite, although also the bathroom not big ,,had everything you need for a comfortable shower and all. If you have difficulty in sleeping you better know that all the rooms are seafront but also next to the main road so can get noisy, also,at night. Still you can shut the window and put the air conditioning on if too hot. The area is great so this hotel is quite perfect for this sort of holiday. Shame there is no fridge in the room, I cannot imagine staying there one week without it! Breakfast was included in the price with tea coffee,cappuccino Several freshly baked cakes,jam, chocolate like Nutella. Good enough for a good start of the day.
