Agriturismo Podere Borgobello

We picked this place as the home base for our 4-week stay in Italy due to its location being central to everything we wanted to see in Umbria and Toscana. The place itself is gorgeous and Gioia and Marco are awesome hosts - we sure felt no shortage of hospitality :)  The agriturismo is very calm and relaxing and has a very distinct character. Our son loved spending countless hours playing with the animals, watching birds and insects, having fun with the old tractor and picking berries and vegetables from Gioia’s garden.

We stayed at Podere Borgobello for a week this May and have the most beautiful souvenirs of the hosts - Gioya, Anna, Marco - who are so friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the charm of the place.  The house is well kept, warm, with beautiful terrasse with a view over the hills and peaceful landscapes of Umbria to have alfresco dinner.  Thank you, dear Gioya!

Wonderful place to hang out and enjoy the Umbrian landscape. Marco and Joya are great hosts and their lovely dogs and children fill the place with life.  You have access to their vegetable garden and you can collect your own eggs from the farm in the morning. Lots of nice details like hammocks near the pool and a small archery field. Great vibes there.

We had a nice stay here. It's close to Perugia so we went there for dinner couple of times. The apartment was spacious. Good showers. Bed was a bit hard. Nice pool and pool area. The mosquitoes liked us, but we liked the dogs and cats better. Nice place to explore Umbria from.

We stayed in the b&b room for 7 nights. We loved the location, green hills, quiet, well maintained garden with fruit trees and flowers. Due to cold weather in May we couldn't use the pool unfortunately.
The room was spacious and nicely decorated. It had an a/c that functioned as a heating too which we needed as it was sometimes cold.
We were the only guests with one other couple and i must say we felt a bit left on our own that week. A buffet breakfast was set at mornings but was not sufficient for us non-Italians as there was lots of sweet stuff (cookies, cake, white bread, croissant), and it lacked more substantial or savoury food. We struggled with the coffeemachine and one morning there was no coffee left and we had to go into the private kitchen to find new coffee which we felt awkward about. But as there was no personnel there in the breakfast room (this was the case most mornings) we had no choice. 
A strange experience was the toiletpaper issue: there was one roll upon arrival. Next day we ran out and asked for new paper and got 2 new rolls. After 1-2 days we had to ask again for paper which started to feel awkward. The owner mentioned that she only had one roll left (...) so we got that, but that was our last roll we received the entire week(we stayed 7 nights)!! We had expected to get new paper every day but the room was only cleaned once that week and even that day no new paper was given! Only our old roll. In the meantime we bought our own paper as we were fed up with this. Or is it an Italian thing not to get toilet paper when staying in a b&b? We just thought it was bad service. Although the room and agriturismo itself are lovely we still felt a bit left on our own that week, as we hardly saw the owners and I had expected a bit more visibility for the guests. 
Our last morning a large group of Italians arrived and that morning one of the staff walked around in the breakfast room and everything was much more service-minded. 

The b&b itself is set in a lovely area and the grounds are really nice. The overall feeling we had staying there for the whole week that little personal attention was given to us.
