The whole hotel can be summed up in the way it looks from outside - hotel sign is literally missing the letter S in Trieste and there is one room right next to the reception where a bunch of trash is stored for everyone passing by to see. But the room is where true horror starts. The furniture is about 80 years old which in self wouldn’t be such a disaster if it wasn’t literally falling apart. Parts of funiture are literally missing and falling apart. TV is also about 80 years old and is so small you can’t see it when you lie on the bed (I’m not even sure if it works because we didn’t turn it on but I’ve been told by others that air conditioning doesn’t work). The bed is the hardest thing I have slept on in my life, you could literally sleep on the street and it would feel the same way. Any pose you lie in will start hurting after 3 minutes. But the worst part is definitely the bathroom. There is no shower, just a shower head coming out of the wall and on the floor is just a drain. So when you shower the water goes absolutely everywhere because nothing is stoping it. Also there is a shower courtain which you pull and it closes you with the shower head AND the toilet so you can expect the toilet to be absolutely soaked by the time you’re done because its on the opposite side of the shower. I can’t even explain this properly and I’m sorry I didn’t take a picture because I have not seen anything like this in my entire life. One girl that was staying at the hotel told me that the drain didn’t even work properly so when she had to dry her hair she had to step out of the bathroom so she wouldn’t get electrocuted. Also the eletrict plugs in my bathroom didn’t work at all and one even came out of the wall when I tried to plug out my hair straightener after realising it doesn’t work. The towels are not towels at all, they are extremely hard SHEETS. There are also holes in the walls that are so deep I don’t even understand how did they happen. The room in itself was not dirty but everything is so old and falling apart that it feels dirty. The balcony is so dirty though that if you walk out in white socks they will become black underneath. There are two chairs on the balcony that are also extremely dirty, literally have black patches of dirt everywhere. The only upside of the whole place is a very nice lady who works there and who made us coffee every morning. All in all, a person reviewing this before said it looks like a refugee center but even refugees wouldn’t stay here. This hotel should be againts the law. Wouldn’t come back even if it was free, save yourselves because there are many normal places in Montecatini terme for a reasonable price. Don’t trust good reviews that were probably written by the owner’s friends.
