Hotel Alpino

This is a secret gem of a hotel in Malcesine. The location is perfect, just a stones throw from the ferry port and the old town, and a few minutes (uphill) walk to the bus station. The rooms aren’t fancy, but they are comfortable and reasonably spacious. I had a room on the side of the hotel and it was fairly quiet despite the central location. The air conditioning worked very well. The room included a fridge and a kettle with coffee and tea which is a nice touch. The bathroom was quite compact and the shower cubicle is quite small. It was fine for me but might be a bit of a tight squeeze for someone who is a bit larger. The breakfast buffet was good with a range of pastries as well as a few hot items. Patrizia and her staff provide a very friendly and professional service. In a town where many of the hotels are high end and expensive, this hotel is a great find where comfort and service are not compromised but affordability if a bit better.
