Like any good horror movie We arrived in a stormy evening. 
The blunt façade was looking at us like we where waited.
From the outside it can look a little old and dismissed, but when you enter this hotel surpasses by far your worst worries.
In a crude, neon-lit room a very serious old man and a old lady will welcome you.
The style of the furniture is 70’s funeral waiting rooms and on the right there is a loud tv with the volume at the maximum.
The lady hands us a key that looked as taken from lord of the rings and we start to climb up with all our luggages and 2 kids the 2 floors, no lift  and no one helping.
The room is naked, spartan with a touch of retirement home and a touch of mental institute charm.
The sheets are hard an like the ones they used to give you on bed trains in the 80’s 
Everything gives a feeling of being at the verge of falling into pieces and disintegrate into dust. 
The beds are squeaky, the cabin is smelly the fridge doesn’t work, it has a price list outside but nothing inside.  the tv obviously doesn’t work but incredibly the air conditioned works, but making strange sounds, like an old fiat 500.
The shower becomes hot after 10-15 minutes, but the hot water lasts five minutes. It doesn’t stand by itself, so you have to hold it with your hand all the time, like a damn liberty statue. From the sink or the bidet comes a tiny super small river of water, so washing requires time and zen patience. There is a small terrace with a nice sea view. There is also a clothing hanger but the clothing clamps break in your hands when you try to use them. The door lock gets stuck so to exit the house you have to force the door for 15 minutes each time. 
Ah, and there is a breakfast included and a restaurant! we opened the door and put our head in the first day and there where 2 couples sitted looking so depressed that we didn’t dare to try this other psychedelic experience. I give it too stars because that’s food for tales to tell, as real as you can get, no frills,  a truly intense ride.

It's sad. Very sad. It's a Friday night at the end of June at 9pm. Apart from my wife and I, the hotel is empty. There truly are no other guests in this hotel.

We arrived mid afternoon without any prior reservation having been made. On enquiring the rate was informed €60 which at less than half of other local hotels was an excellent rate.

The room was clean yet very dated. The air conditioning worked well as did the shower with hot water although the toilets flushed yellowish water. I believe because the water pipes are not being used and the water stagnated.

There was a flat screen tv. Brown ceramic tiled floors and drab decor.  Nothing on the walls, not a single picture.cheap furniture, mismatched bedding. More the quality of a youth hostel really!

It is obvious that since a deluxe hotel was built immediately in front of this hotel, business has deteriorated and no longer has the clientele for it to survive. It is dead.

My opinion (for what it is worth) is to renovate the hotel into individual apartments for families and to then market them accordingly for vacation rentals. If could then survive but not as a hotel. The hay days are long over and the end is already written. So very, very sad.

For the two of us, it's been an experience and that's all I can say really. Let the ghosts lay in peace now.
