Agriturismo Macesina

A true family working farm for generations, lovingly and beautifully restored, like staying with a wonderful Italian family you never knew you had. Nothing is too much trouble, Roberto drove my daughter and I to his favourite restaurant the night we arrived as we were tired, and he was concerned that we would not find it! Breakfast is an authentic Italian one with excellent coffee and delicious fresh seasonal fruit. Dinner Thursday, Friday, Saturday, cooked by Roberto's wife's twin sister, with all the family involved, most of the food was home grown, even the wine was local and excellent! Bedrooms are huge and very comfy, bathroom large, the shower cabinet could be bigger but hey ...... Water was warm and plentiful, big fluffy towels and dressing gowns, all very inviting. There is an excellant gym with a personal trainer, Turkish bath with the possibility of a masseuse, but the Jewel in the crown are the gardens and pool area, just fabulous. After doing the lake two days running, the calm og Macesina was Heaven! A nice touch is the communal fridge full of local wine, where u sign the book and help yourself! I could have stayed so much longer, I cannot praise Roberto, Oscar, their wives and children for a fabulous trip! Just divine.
