That is what It is listed as Respectfully , This is NOT a hostel ... To get an idea of what a hostel is I recommend Ostello bello in Milano ... Been there ; one of the best in Europe . And this is NOT a hotel ... - you can book a guaranteed private room for one ... even if it is a ' twin ' bed room and staff is present 24 / 7 . This IS really more a budget Inn ... It's centrally located in a great spot of the old center of town ... laundry mat directly across the street ... There was a friendly girl aged 20ish helping out the host when I visited who spoke English but just so you know the female host does not ... although she did go over the main items with me listed on a paper in English ... how to do this and that ... the basics ... The kitchen is ONLY accessible for it's sink and refrigerator every other cubbard is locked . There is an elevator or stairs , your choice ... to the different levels . There are 4 floors ... room options consist of a room with two beds or a room with 4 beds . Each floor opens with a swipe card to a shared bathroom on the left ... * the bathroom has it configured so there is a showerhead in the main part of the tiled restroom with a drain in the floor so someone in a wheelchair can take a shower ... pretty innovative ... There are two rooms on each floor ... each with a locking slide door ...one room to the left has two beds and the one to the right has four ... Each room has a locking wardrobe for each persons belongings . There was old style windows with shutters in my room to keep out the sun if need be . For some reason the walls between rooms are OPEN near the top ...so noise from one room can travel to the other ; snoring / talking etc ... - you can actually look over and i suppose crawl over if one was apt to do so making a locked sliding door useless . I don't understand why the architectural designer did that . Renovation on this place was very recent and it opened june of 2014 . Bed in my room had option for a pull down top bunk bed ... expensively designed dual bed ... nice instead of the usual square bunk bed situation most hostels have . I visited in off season ... ( late January ) I am not to into sharing a room with a stranger , so booked the only option they offered for a solo traveler ; a shared room with two beds ... thinking there was a good chance i'd have a roommate . I booked for a week ... and including the 4 floors only saw 3 other guests in the whole place all week ( all Italian business travelers ) . Not another person on my floor of 6 other beds ... I could have saved about 50 euro had I known I would have booked for a 4 bed room instead of a more expensive 2 bed room and still slept alone . Well my last night , after being there for 6 days .. and no other person on my floor ... I left my bathroom supplies in the shared bathroom and sliding door to my room open ... Only to find when there was a new booking for a client on my floor the host had moved all my belongings i left in the bathroom into my room and closed the sliding door . Thought that was out of line . Felt like 20 years ago when I was still living at home . But worse could have happened I suppose ... perhaps that's what the host was hoping to prevent . Might be awkward for me to return here next time but I recommend this place highly . It's great for the budget traveler and im glad Brescia finally has an option like this . The only other budget ' hostel ' is 3 miles from the center of town .
