Grand Palais Excelsior

We stayed at the Grand Palais Excelsior just for a short break and we were allocated a mini-apartment in the residence (#21). The furnishing and facilities of the mini-apartment were complete (dishes, glasses, cooking items, etc.) and perfectly fitting for a family of four (2 adults in the alcove with the proper bed, two kids in the sofabed) even though the apartment was considered apt for three occupants. It was well refined and comfortable, but it was not "historical" as we suspect the rooms at the "real" hotel would be. In any case, for a skiing holiday I would consider it a better a more practical solution. We fully enjoyed our stay and really took advantage of everything the hotel had to offer: good meals at the restaurant "Il San Pietro" and relax in the pool/Jacuzzi area and SPA. The parking (valet service) was a good suggestion, but please consider that it is at an added cost of 15 euro. Personnel was always fully available and ready to help, both in the hotel and the SPA. We particularly liked the young waiters in the breakfast room and the restaurant, who - despite the long working hours and the hotel being full - were always smiling. Their commitment and enthusiams really showed. The only surprise we had was the snow, falling copiously during the night. All the rest perfectly lived up to our expectations and our stay was smooth and relaxing just like it should be.
