90 reviewsMonika and Mirco are wonderful hosts. If you have the good fortune to meet any of their lovely children you will consider it a gift. They are very anxious to please and provide a great experience. If there is something you need but don’t have they will go out of their way to get it for you. At one point I had a sliver from hiking and they produced a tweezers for me! I had a double room which was decorated with charm and care. It was cleaned daily, and had a dresser, a small desk, and a large wardrobe. The food is excellent. Much of it is produced right on their farm. They serve a typical Italian breakfast, with bread, coffee cakes, yogurt, homemade preserves, honey, and coffee and juice. If you include half-board the dinners consisted of plentiful, delicious food, again with much of it produced on their farm. Monika’s tiramisu is to die for! Pool and Jacuzzi are available for guests. They speak some English and helper Gabriella is available to help with any needed translation. Whether you come for the beauty of the nearby National Park or just want to enjoy the views of the Uccelini Mountains from your patio, if you want to immerse yourself in Maremma with a true taste of Tuscan life I highly recommend staying at Podere Montecorno. Alberese has several small grocers and vegetable vendors for ingredients for picnic lunches and other sundries. It also has a laundromat and a bar which of course sells good gelato! Larger Grosseto is close for other needs. My stay was in early May and the weather was a bit rainy, but there are plenty of local sights to see—including plentiful Etruscan ruins—for day trips.
