Bellavista

Don’t often stay at a Bed and Breakfast but the owner of this one is lovely, though speaks very little English. Followed the instructions provided by email which were much better than Google, that would have sent us to the wrong place! Fortunately my navigator saw the Hotel Corralo marker sign which gave us reason to look for and spot the sings to BellaVista B&B. Up a narrow road/driveway in the van I was driving an interesting experience then into their parking on a steep hill (4 point turn anyone?). Suggest you park lower down the hill where parking exists. Rooms a good size, bathrooms somewhat tight, bar fridge but no tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast starts at 8:30am which is a bit late for me and, if you have a tour to Mt Etna booked like us the pickup time was 8:55am down at the main road. Fabulous views over the ocean, looking down on the nearest town. Whilst there is a track to walk up to Taormina you need to be a mountain goat to use it so we took a taxi from the train station which is only a few minutes walk. Lovely driver who provided good intel.
