I'm sorry to share my negative experience, but the hotel also charged me for the night, despite the phone call where I was reporting my flight being hijacked to another airport (from Pisa to Fiumicino) because Pisa had been closed due to the thick fog and I was unable to reach Victoria by 23.30....

I was disappointed.

I am moving to Genoa for work and temporary accommodation in this open house. The structure is simple, but nothing is missing. The reception is fantastic, the international environment. Free coffee and hot drinks, rich and varied breakfast. A place where you can have beautiful dreams and beautiful awakenings even at 48.

Sharing and welcoming, a safe place to dream

Such a nice hostel. Feels very homely. The rooms are kind of standart with all that is necessary, and the kitchen is well equipped. The hostel is super close to the station where you can go various of different beautiful places. The hostel itself was super - the staff was super nice! But the people we met made this trip and hostel experience unforgettable

Unforgettable

This hostel's best feature is its location.  Less than 10 minute's walk from the main train station (if you don't get lost!).  Easy walking distance to most of Genova's sights too.  Plenty of cafes, take-outs, and supermarkets within a few blocks.  
My dorm was pretty spacious, and the kitchen was decent with two stoves, but only one fridge.  I visited during the slow season, and there was plenty of room for everybody.  If the place was fully booked, I could see it getting a little crowded.  
My dorm didn't have an en-suite, but the showers and toilets are assigned to each dorm- so ideally you'll have washroom facilities just for you and your roommates.  The doors to the showers and toilets were hard to close, and the shower leaked, but as long as you don't put your stuff on the floor you'll be fine.  You can smoke on the balcony if that's your thing.  At times the noise from the common areas infiltrated my dorm, but everything seemed to settle down by 10 pm.  Oh yes- private reading lights and power points at each bunk.
There is an elevator, but you'll have to climb some stairs to get to it.
If I'm ever in Genova again, I may as well stay here :)

Stayed in Victoria House for 3D 2N, staying in a 4 person shared room with bunk beds.

I was very pleased with Victoria House, the facilities are good quality and the staff were very pleasant. Great location both in terms of access to tourist destinations and to Genova Brignole Station.

Definitely reccomended.

The staff are awesome went out of the way to help me when I had an issue while traveling. Nice atmosphere and good location in a safe neighborhood. Can't recommend enough!

The Victoria House is located a few steps from Genoa Station, easily reachable on foot. Upon my arrival, I found myself in front of a fabulous 20th century building. The hostel is located on the third floor with a lift. Marco, the owner opened the door for me and made me sit in the waiting room. My heart lit up when I saw the "Alexander Supertramp" poster hanging on the wall. Marco is really a wonderful and very kind person. During the check-in he explained to me in detail the information of the structure and he also recommended many beautiful places, where he could better enjoy the Genoese experience. The room was beautiful, clean, with air conditioning and light bulbs, and power outlets next to the bed. Behind the bedroom there was a shared bathroom with shower.
In this structure you can also cook, because there is a large kitchen with all the culinary utensils, to cook you a delicious "Pasta al pesto". Next to the kitchen, a nice living room and a lovely balcony where you can have a good aperitif.
If you have to do the shopping, outside the hotel, a 2-minute walk will take you to the INS cheap supermarket and several typical Genoese bakeries and butchers.

In short, summarizing everything: I was really well. Customer service: 10/10; Cleaning: 10/10; Comfort: 10/10; Price: 10/10.

Fabulous Hostel in the heart of Genoa

Great location, just a few steps from the historic center of Genoa. A 17th-century structure with an entire plan adapted to a hostel. International, young and multi-racial clientele with a very easy reception and close to the backpacker philosophy. Clean and spacious cameras.
