Attico Palazzo Giustiniani

We enjoyed our 4 night stay in in this superbly positioned building. However, we hadn’t understood that the un-serviced ensuite room provided was not self-contained, but in an apartment lived in by the owner, which reduced our sense of privacy. The apartment was beautifully furnished with antique furniture and carpets and we were asked to not wear our outdoor shoes indoors (not a problem). We had breakfast in our hostess' sitting room or on the balcony, which we only tried once since it was a bit chilly in the early morning. The breakfast consisted of very fresh delicious croissants and bread for me and gluten free bread for my husband. Our attractive room with antique furniture and pleasant pictures was generally comfortable, but lacked drawer space. There was a long shelf behind the bed, but we would have preferred to have stored underwear in a closed drawer. Light over the bed was good, but the light by the window was not good enough to read if sitting in one of the chairs. The shower was excellent. Our hostess was helpful in directing us to a laundry and calling a taxi when we left .
