22 reviewsWe stayed at Villa le Capanne in August and had a very enjoyable stay. We were given a very warm welcome and one of the owners (who spoke much better English than our Italian!) gave us some very useful tips on where to park (in Florence and Fiesole), good restaurants to eat at and places to visit (she used to be a tour guide many years ago!) All of this information proved to be very useful and highly accurate - the recommended restaurants provided the best meals we had during our stay! The building is 500+ years old and very charming, also it is in a beautiful location. If you are looking for a modern, air-conditioned, luxury hotel then this is not for you! If, however, you want to escape to a wonderful retreat then I would highly recommend this to you. The swimming pool is also well maintained and welcoming on a warm day. I would recommend the breakfast option (at 5 Euro per person per night) is taken up. It is simple but plentiful and sets you up well for a day exploring. My one downside would be that maybe they should have a couple of fans in each room as summer can (of course) be very hot in Italy!
