B&B La Terrazza

Marattimo is a spectacularly beautiful island, rugged mountains rising from the sea covered in wild thyme and pine forests. A tiny harbour with sun drenched blue and white washed houses, very pretty. A place that I have long dreamed of visiting. I am a solo woman traveller. I stayed at La Terrazza B& B Marattimo for 4 days Sept/Oct 2016. Great location only 5 minute walk from the ferry port La Terrazza is situated in the village. My room had a little balcony with a view to the sea and behind me the backdrop of the stunning rugged mountainous interior of the island. Quiet and squeaky clean! Ensuite, hairdryer, fresh towels, TV, excellent wifi. A very pretty top floor terrace with stunning views around Marattimo with a guest kitchen, table and chairs to relax or have your lunch during the day. A buffet breakfast was served on the terrace each morning, fresh warm bread rolls, croissants, selection of jams and ricotta puffs, as well as the most delectable apple cake which I think Cristina got up at the crack of dawn each morning to bake, juice, coffee/tea. Marattimo is walkable everything is only 5 minutes walk away; amazing restaurants, a couple of small shop for supplies, post office, pharmacy, ATMs, dive/snorkelling shops, and fishermen's boats for a circumnavigation of the island, walking tracks, swimming coves. I have very little Italian, Cristina had very little English, her warmth and generosity didn't need a language we understood each other well. Two memories for me as I arrived, Cristina's wonderful warm welcome and the squeaky clean smell of freshly washed linen wafted everywhere. Grazie I had a wonderful stay...
