Campeggio Valle Gesso

We stayed 3 nights here on our way south. We had dodgey weather so could not make full use of the location. Would be lovely in high season. There are mountains all around and it’s Easy to walk to the nearby village of Entracque which was very picturesque (if eerily quiet!). Wifi here was the best we’ve experienced throughout Italy, although this may be because there were only 2 or 3 vans on the site at the time. Receptionist spoke good English but could have offered more info about the local area more readily we thought. We were then led to the pitches and given a choice. The site was tidy. Electricity and water were nearby and it was very useful to have a drain for grey water for every pitch. Toilet blocks functioned ok but were in large metal huts which were slightly uninviting (largely because so few people were there I expect). The token system for the showers was a little strange (you had to pay in the deserted games room) and €1 (as far as I remember) seemed quite a lot. However the showers were warm. Male receptionist very friendly on check out. Overall a well organised site, we stayed at the wrong time of year.
