My two teens and I started our Italy adventure here with the great team of Fulvio and Marco (and Bacco!) at Esperia. The rooms are fantastic with great art and views--and a fully stocked kitchen if you want to do your own cooking! The breakfasts (by Fulvio) are amazing, with scrumptious baked goods, as well as fresh fruits and veggies. Marco is a fantastic host and takes care of the grounds which are beautiful and useable with picnic tables, a pool, and hammocks set amongst the trees and flowers. You'll definately need a car to get around the area, but the owners have great tips that are super helpful--about restaurants, but also about basic stuff that you might not read about the travel books. At the end of the trip, both my kids picked Esperia and the folks there as one of their favorites of the 3-week trip! And I loved it as well.
