Tenuta Spadaro

We stayed in the double room, which was a nice and affordable option. The room is rather large, with a clean and good bathroom. The major inconvenience was that there was just one window (and the window-door) so ventillation was limited during the incredible heathwave that struck Italy during our visit. Gaetano and Tamara gave as some ventillators to make the heath more bearable. This is a farm stay, and there is a great garden with several cossy sitting places. And a nice olive tree grove with some nice birds (including an on site Hoopoe). There is also a nice pool which is just great, refreshing and the nicest place to spend a very warm afternoon and it has incredible views on the surrounding hills. There is an on site restaurant which is however only open when a group reserves. During our visit it opened twice, and we were offered a free delicious meal at the occasion. Breakfast is not included. Closeby you can find a good restaurant (walking distance: Osteria da mi Pa) and a bar-bakery (ca 1 km, at the crossroad with the main road) with great breakfast and lunch (if you like pannini). The location is also nice: rather close to Lucca but still on the countryside, away from the more industrialized area closer to Lucca. A great spot if you love the Tuscan landscape with olive groves and wineries. I would return here if I visited again Lucca.
