Il Frantoio di Cannoreto B&B

We really enjoyed staying at the Frantoio di Cannoreto. Tucked into an outlying residential area at the foot of the gorgeous, marble-laced, costal mountains, it is about 15 minutes from the coastal towns of Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi. This B&B located in a beautiful ancient stone building that used to be an old olive oil mill alongside a stream that runs down from the mountains! The weather was not great, but the place was lovely and the owner (Paola) cooked us one of the most memorable meals that we had in Italy for an very reasonable price. She is truly an AMAZING cook! It was also wonderful to be able to dine in front of the enormous stone fireplace and not have to go out in search of a restaurant with our tired son (especially since no restaurant opens until at least 7-7:30). In my experience, most B&Bs do not offer this service so we really appreciated it! There were about 5 rooms from what I could tell, but we had the place to ourselves, which was nice. I suppose it’s a lot busier during the warmer months, being close to both the Tuscan beaches (Forte dei Marmi) and some of the most beautiful mountains in Italy. There was also a large walled-in front courtyard, which is useful when you have small children! We would most certainly stay there again!
