Residenza Kastrum

My husband and I stayed here with 6 friends, there are only 4 rooms and 1 suite so we pretty much had the accommodations to ourselves. We were impressed with the rooms, the breakfast is basic but enough. The rooms were cleaned each day and the bed made up daily. The accommodation was comfortable and a bit quirky. Room 4 is the biggest, Room 3 has extra storage, Room 2 was the smallest, Room 1 medium sized. What makes this accommodation special is the roof terrace. As 8 friends we would meet up here in the morning, in the afternoon for a few drinks and in the evening for pre and post meal drinks. The views are amazing as this accommodation is right at the top of the hill. There are a couple of the tourist lifts within a few minutes walk so you don't need to climb the steps or walk up the sloping roads too far. There are also buses that can get you within 5 minutes walk of the property. Roberta was amazing and was quick to respond to any issues we had (very minor, that were quickly remedied). She also arranged a minibus transfer for us. There are a few restaurants in the area, but a 10 minute walk gets you to more. The roads are very narrow in the Castello area, only cars sporadically using the roads, so the area is very quiet. Having walked around Cagliari for 4 days I can say that this location is probably the best one to stay in. We were all very impressed with Residenza Kastrum and would not hesitate to stay here again if we ever return to Cagliari
