Nonna Arde

Beverino is a small village, not far from La Spezia, and good starting point for Cinque Terre. Between Beverino in the valley and Beverino Castello up on the hill, there are a few houses, one of them includes the apartments called Nonna Arde, for rent on a daily or weekly basis. 2 rooms, lodges 4, up to 6 (but 4 in the same room, 2 in the "living/dining room and kitchen (convertible bed/sofa). Access to the bathroom through the bedroom. Equipement of kitchen and bath (shower) is new and functional, big refrigerator. free wifi (works well). The young owner (?) who receives us speaks English, enough to get everything set up and agreed. Nice: there are train and boat schedules for visits to Cinque Terre photocopied, to take with you (very useful). To do your shopping (there is no restaurant in these houses, only a small one down in the village and one on the top of the hill) you best go to La Spezia (19km). Towels, bedsheets are provided, everything very clean. BUT: be aware that these rooms are accessible via steep stairs (see picture); not accessible for wheel chairs; and a bit scary when you have small children escaping from the rooms to the landing: they may fall down very hard... The free parking is on the side of the road: 2-3 cars max... On the whole, an inexpensive place to stay for a few days, pleasant scenery around, total calm, safety, and proximity to interesting places other than Cinque Terre (Portovenere, Pisa, Lucca...)
