Hotel Alla Riviera

We spent a week at Alla Riviera hotel & loved it. The staff were all so friendly & made us feel very welcome. Unfortunately we don't speak much Italian but they were very patient with us when we tried to ask questions, or if we had requests & they spoke to us in English whenever they could which was much appreciated. The hotel is lovely - the photos online really don't do it justice. It was decorated in a slightly old fashioned way, but our room was spotlessly clean and appeared to have been recently decorated. My mom & I shared a suite & they had kindly turned the sofa into a comfortable bed, so we effectively had a bedroom each. The suite had 2 huge wardrobes, a safe & 2 airconditioning units which were so quiet you could barely tell they were running apart from the fact that they cooled the rooms down beautifully. It was the same with the minibar - it was so silent I couldn't hear it at night at all which was great. We also had a little balcony overlooking the boardwalk & stunning lake which was great for sitting out on in the evenings enjoying a glass of wine & watching the world go by. It was too hot for us to sit by the pool for long but there were plenty of umbrellas & the pool was really refreshing. Breakfast was a good spread of continental choices like cheeses, meats and some cereals, yoghurt and eggs. There was also a bottle of sparkling wine available which was a nice touch. We'd love to have stayed for longer & can't wait to return.
