Would not recommend this dump to anyone!  Bathroom had mold in it, the furniture was torn, no closet, TV did not work (even though they tried twice to fix it), plaster was peeling, breakfast room was quite dirty, etc.   Even though it is advertised as the Ben Yehudah Hotel the sign in front says Momo’s Hostel.  We left after one night to find another place nearby, the Embassy hotel which was lovely.

Ben Yehuda Hotel is a part of Momos Hostel, at 28 Yehuda Street in central Tel Aviv. The reception and bar/breakfast area is shared with Momos Hostel, but if you have a booking that says Ben Yehuda Hotel, then you do have your own room with attached bathroom, so no worries about bunkbeds or snooring roomies. This place is located in Ben Yehuda St, and you have walking distance to everything, as well as restaurants/bars just around the corner and only a few minute walk to the beach. Dizengoff Shopping Centre is about 10 min walk and there are several options with buses and sheruts just outside. The hotel/hostel is very basic, but really, a bargain for this location. I had both attached bathroom, closet and cable TV, and the hotel offers free WiFi connection, as well as included breakfast and storage facility in case you f.ex. need to check out many hours before your flight. There is no elevator, and due to the buzzling city noices and pretty basic accommodation I would'nt recommend this place to elderly or families with very small kids. But if you're an active person 30-50 who is planning to spend most of your holiday outside exploring, instead of getting cozy in a hotel room, then this is a great option, at an affordable price. The locks to the rooms are not the best, or even on  the windows, but if that is a major concern for you then the reception offers to put valuables in their safe. Besides, the reception staff is very humble, friendly, caring and helpful when it really comes to it, and that actually weighs up for everything else. 

Good budget option

The hotel is not fancy but clean and cheap. A good place to save money in Israel coz usually the price range is much higher. Here u even get small breakfast for free in the morning. The staff was very polite and ready to help.

Modest place if u do not want to spend a lot of money

Let me share here my experience with this "hotel"

On the second night, I simply closed the window and it just broke, cutting one of my fingers a little bit; but more importantly, it fell on the street. Fortunately, no one was there because it really could have seriously injured someone. I went down the lobby to ask for a new room, but there was no room available so I had to sleep in the same room, with the broken window and all the noise from the street (Ben Yehuda is one of the most noisy street in Tel Aviv); therefore barely slept 3 hours. On the next day, I asked the manager for some compensation. He did not apologize, did not offer me any kind of compensation and indicated that he was already nice enough not to make me pay for the window! I then got a new room.

Yesterday evening, my sister and her boyfriend (which were in another room in the same hotel - our reservation included two private rooms) came back at 2:00am just to realize that their whole room was full of water (flood), and the luggage and clothes were all wet. It was not possible to stay in the room, so we asked for another room but there was no room available. The only solution that was offered to us was to get a bed in a dormitory in Momo's Hostel (same manager). So my sister and her boyfriend had to move all their stuff to my room (#26), and I had to go at 3:00AM to the dorm with my stuff. There was no air conditioning but just a fan, no shower / bathroom in the room, and no way to close the door.
I therefore again barely slept 3 hours.

I asked for the manager this morning, and he - again - did not apologize but just mentioned it was not his fault, that the room was ok before we moved there (!!), and that they found a solution (the dorm). I told him that this was not normal and that we wanted at least to get reimbursed for the night. He said that he could not do that and that what happened was not of his responsibility (!). He proposed us to get a bigger room for the end of our stay but I refused as I said I just wanted to get what I paid for. I paid for a private room and got a dorm instead, plus have to move my stuff at  3:00AM in the morning, etc. I indicated that I just wanted to get a refund for the night but he refused.

Even though the price looks attractive, don't book here! 

This is by the way not a hotel, but a private room in a hostel, which is literally falling apart, with antiquated furnitures, windows, etc. 

Additionally, and given what I explained above, I consider that I have been ripped off here, as I paid for a service / room that I did not get, with a non-commercial at all manager, accusing me of being responsible for the flood (!!) and the broken window (I closed it in a very normal way).
