Riversdale House B&B

My daughter and I shared a beautiful, spacious room with an en-suite bathroom. The Riversdale property itself is breathtaking. There is a stream close by complete with stepping stones which lead onto a scenic rustic road adjoining a verdant forest. Following this led us on an easy walk to Glendalough, via its historic monastic site. Zell at Riversdale is so lovely. My daughter and I are determined to return to Riversdale someday.

Lovely B&B.  Rooms lovely bright and spacious with ensuite bathroom.  Right beside a river which when walking the Wicklow Way is greatly needed for a foot soak. Gorgeous location and gorgeous house.  Lovely hostess.  Breakast was lovely.

Riverdale House B&B is in one of the most beautiful location that Ireland has to offer. If, you like to hike and spend time in the natural surroundings this is the place for you. Walk out the front door and walk across a rock path through the stream, and walk down a gravel road by the stream and a small dam to dinner or to hike.

The room was perfect for our needs, spacious with god bed and clean bathroom.
The place is a bit remote, but there is a good restaurant that offers a shuttle service (or if you have a car).

Regarding the walk and stepping stones across the river, it is a nice walk on a dry day, but if it rains the water in the river overflow the stones, so be careful!

I've been traveling to Glendalough for years. First alone and in recent years with my fiancée. Liam and Zell are great hosts. They try to fulfil every wish and make your stay in Glendalough a unique experience. Liam knows the area very well and recommends the best hiking and day trips. Since I come to Glendalough by bus and without a rental car, Liam has already taken me to the starting points of particularly beautiful hiking routes (e.g. to part of the Wicklow Way) several times. Over the years a friendly relationship has developed and I like to come back every year. Riversdale is like a second home for me. The accommodation is picturesquely situated at a river course and offers a unique view already for breakfast in the winter garden. The rooms (and I have already seen almost all of them) are very comfortably furnished and offer every comfort one could wish for. Glendalough itself is a wonderful place to relax (Liam and Zell are happy to explain how to avoid the main tourist streams of the day :-)).

Could not have picked a better place to stay in the Wicklow Mountains. Riversdale House is located on St Kevin's Way, a 30 km trail from Hollywood to Glendalough, in an area steeped in monastic history. Easily accessible to Glendalough and the highly recommended Wicklow Heather Restaurant in Laragh. Retreat to Riversdale House's comfortable lounge and plan your next day in front of a wood-burning stove - as we did in October 2018

Only a 10 min walk down a quite road and over the river on some stepping stones, very memorable. Hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable in a very scenic and quiet location. Breakfast was delicious.

We received a warm welcome on arrival. The room was very clean with a beautiful view out across the valley. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice. There is a lovely walk into Glendalough along the river so no need to take the car. Another bonus is that the local restaurant, the Heather, offers a free pick up and drop off service. A great spot for a short break and some peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings.

We had a wonderful stay here while walking the Wicklow Way. It’s a short walk along the river from Glendalough. To get to the B&B, you have to cross stepping stones across the little river. Unbelievably charming.  We were made to feel very welcome and breakfast was excellent.

We spent one night here. The room we had was very spacious with great views up the valley. The room was clean and the bathroom was up to date. There was plenty of room for us to park our rental car. The hosts were friendly, even though we were later getting to the B&B than we had initially said we would be. The views from the house were incredibly beautiful. The breakfast room continues the beautiful views and the food was delicious. The house is a short walk from Glendalough along the river and we got to see deer as we walked into town. I would recommend walking into town in the evening after the park is closed to enjoy the views with no one else around. We did not eat at any of the restaurants in town, but we did bring a picnic supper and ate by the river, which was a relaxing way to end the day and enjoy the sunset. The wifi was only available in the front room, but the views are so incredible it should not be any inconvenience. As they will let you know when booking, make sure to have cash to pay for the room as there is no ATM in town.

Our first night in Ireland was had here. Comfortable, quiet, and convenient, it’s a wonderful spot. It’s close to town, as well as historical sites. My only complaint: the stairs are a bit steep for old guys like me. Maybe the addition of a wall rail to go with the bannister would help.

Nice and clean rooms with the most basic equipment. Friendly host. Breakfast is okay, but not unique. The area is quiet but a bit outside the city.
Be aware that your mobile might not be of much use in that area.
