First when we arrived the name was changed outside the accommodation to by the sea B&B so it may be confusing for visitors. The stay was excellent. Immaculate accommodation. Extremely clean & bright. ♥

We had a great stay here. Staff we’re friendly and helpful and there’s a very relaxed atmosphere. Everything was very clean and brand new, Location is fantastic, so close to everything. Great spot!!!!

Good accommodation just what we needed. Close to local amenities and a good communal area with food to use at your leisure. Bedrooms have ensuite different to other hostels. Good stay thanks again....

These guys are excellent hosts. We went up for a company outing for the weekend and they were beyond helpful and friendly. Highly recommend these. The company had such a great time at their BBQ that took place on the first night. Food was good, the music was good. 
We'll all be back for sure.

Just back from a three day stay at the hostel. From the moment we landed Dianne was so helpful and Keith was great as well. The venue is so central,near the town and the beach and the beds are so comfy. Loads of space in the common room and kitchen and nothing was too much effort for the staff. The girls loved the surfing too. Thanks folks, we will be back!

Great welcome, lovely atmosphere and overall very relaxed weekend at the Surf and Turf lodge. We really enjoyed the surf lessons (shout out to Oisin who had great patience!) and accommodation was as you expect for the price. In saying that, some investment is definitely needed in the lodge reception area, surf equipment and shower facilities.

Very friendly and budget friendly.we had a double en-suite and it was handy so near to beach and town.breakfast cereal and toast/tea available next morning.anyone interested in surfing it’s an ideal place to stay.👍

One night stay

We were disappointed in the level of accommodation provided.

We were lead to believe when booking that tea and coffee were provided in the room but found that it was in a communal kitchen which isn't really appropriate during the threat  of Covid 19.

We were also disappointed in our room because we had 3 small dogs and were put right at the top of the building - not really suitable when the dogs need out during the night.

The room although clean was very basic and didn't even have a wardrobe in it in which to hang our clothes so everything was scattered on the floor.

In summary what is shown on the website is misleading.  This facility is not suitable for couples looking for comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price.  It is fine for younger people who are comfortable with "roughing" it.

At £275 it wasn't cheap for 5 nights and we left after 3 nights because it just didn't suit us and my wife was so worried about the fact that the Covid threat was significant and at no time did we ever see a cleaner in the property.

All in all it was a disappointing  experience and an expensive mistake.

Disappointing experience

Great location and overall pleasant stay however the hygiene standards were poor. The bins in the kitchen were overflowing and hadn't been emptied at all during my time there. Dishes and food were left out on counters/table by other guests and there was out of date food in fridge. I think given the recent epidemic, hygiene standards should be a top priority and although guests bare this responsibility as well, I think there should be a member of staff checking on the property daily and cleaning the shared communal areas. Hate leaving bad reviews but I think it's important that your aware.

I booked a double room and was really dissapointed. Although the location is amazing, I wouldn't book again. There was mold in the room. It was Noisy at night. In the morning nobody prepared some breakfast. We had to guess where to find everything. I was surprised as the hostel has such good reviews.
