Bluebell House Bed and Breakfast

This ws our second visit this year to Bluebell House, and both times we were made very welcome, and were very well looked-after. Kathleen was a warm, friendly and welcoming hostess, and very kind in meeting some of our special requests around arrival  and departure times.
Our room was spotless, the beds were comfortable, breakfast was excellent and the location is stunning.
We would certainly return to Bluebell House, and we recomment it to anyone looking for a quality stay in this part of Leitrim.

I stayed here with my husband son and brother in law, the rooms were lovely and when you looked out the bedroom window it was the most amazing views on the mountains ,the beds were so comfy and we all slept perfectly ,breakfast was really nice ,the whole experience was perfect ,would definitely come back and will recommend to my friends, thank so much for a fab stay .

Discovered quite by accident on web search. Delighted. Host and hostess so friendly and welcoming. En suite room on ground floor really great as I have mobility issues. Well done on breakfast bar as well as hot breakfast. Would recommend highly.

We stayed here for 2 nights as we were in manorhamilton for a party , nice clean accommodation with plenty of hot water and good wi fi . Nice location with lovely views. Kathleen and Aidan  looked after us and produced a very nice breakfast.

We stayed at Bluebell House for 3 nights while attending a friend's birthday party. Kathleen and Aidan were friendly and welcoming hosts and we felt very much at home. The view from our room was directly overlooking the mountain and was absolutely stunning. The room was spacious and warm and we found the bed very comfortable, with a good strong shower in the en suite. The full Irish breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed chatting to Kathleen about the best places to visit while we were there. The location is good, you can walk into the town in about 6-7 minutes and it is easy to drive out and visit the area as well. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Thank you Kathleen and Aidan for honoring our booking despite a very recent death in their family.  This is a modern, very clean establishment.  Beds were comfortable.  Best shower I’ve had in Ireland with plenty of hot water and full sized as opposed to the phone booth showers in many places. Breakfast was exactly as we requested and the view from the breakfast room is very enjoyable.

I had phoned a few days ahead to ensure check in was okay and was told that because of a family issue - there may not be anyone there when I arrived but to phone one of the owners instead. I arrived slightly later than I said and rang the bell and got no answer.  So I phoned and was told that as they couldn't be there - so to use a lock-box instead. (So why couldn't I have been told that at the start - it would have saved us all a lot of hassle!)

I was being talked through the entry of the house on the phone when someone appeared inside - the other owner.  I don't know if he was in all the time or had come in another way, but why couldn't he have just let me in?  Then I was asked what I wanted for breakfast - just after a 5 hour drive.  No menu was provided (there isn't one in the welcome pack.)  I explained I didn't eat tomatoes which the owner seemed to find funny  but thought no more about it, until later, I overheard him talking about it to another guest.  When I pulled him up about it the next morning - he denied it at first, but when I said I had distinctly heard him mention "the chap in room 1" he then apologised.

Other than this - it was an average experience - the rooms were very clean and tidy but the communal areas including the breakfast room seemed to have several dead flies around.  In my bedroom there was a small pot containing enough coffee for 3 cups and 2 teabags only - no biscuits.  The bed was hard to my taste and caused me spasms.  There was no fruit at breakfast, fresh or otherwise - and as I said I have no idea what else was on offer other than a "full Irish," which was adequate - no more. All in all, very disappointing and would not stay again.
