Mary the host was delightful and very helpful. Breakfast was lovely each morning. Would definitely recommend this to others. Loved everything about the facility.

Mary took the very best care of us after long days of travel.  For those looking for the perfectly sequestered getaway in County Galway, this is it!

Mary was great, the gardens were beautiful and the room cozy.

Mary made sure we were comfortable at her charming bnb. The view was beautiful and the room we had was just the right size for our family of 4. Breakfast was delicious. Mary also went the extra mile to share suggestions about the area and how to make the most of our visit. We loved the unique flare and style of the bnb and would recommend for others to stay here, especially if you want something quiet and private.

Mary and John were lovely. Everything was super-clean and efficient. A little off the beaten path but beautiful and worth the detour.

We had a great stay at the Waterfront, greeted by Mary who was very friendly and gave us a good talk about what is there to do and visit around the county. 
Rooms were great, the view idyllic, we got two rooms next to each other as we were traveling with my parents. 
Breakfast was a great start to the day, Mary always made sure we were happy and full before leaving for the day. Made accommodations about the tea we preferred and even noticed my dad and sister didn’t eat the warm tomatoes with the Irish breakfast on the first day, so they weren’t served any the next day. A very nice touch, where you see the hostess care about her visitors. 
Would definitely recommend staying here and will come back if we are back in the region. 🇮🇪👏🏻🤍

I booked this with my cousin and it was  the perfect setting for views. The Waterfront was a lovely stay from start to finish.  Really accommodating, friendly and lovely breakfast.  Would highly recommend.

The Waterfront House was an absolutely gorgeous property with a lake view and magnificent gardens.  Our room was nicely furnished and very clean.  Our host was welcoming and very gracious.  The continental breakfast was average with croissants, toast and brown bread, butter and jam.  The boats pictured on the website are not available for guests to use.  That was a bit of a disappointment.  I would stay here again.

Great family time

Had a lovely 3 night stay at the Waterfront. It’s located down a country lane through the local golf course. We has a lakeside view which was clean and tidy. The bathroom was a bit small but not an issue. The host Mary was very friendly with nothing being too much trouble who has been running the Waterfront for many years. The real highlight was the superb breakfast. From choices of many different breads at a great cooked breakfast. What could be better.

Lovely stay with great view

Lovely stay and welcome and the hostess Mary was par excellent --- and views to love over the loch --  would stay anytime. We also received lots of help on where to visit and best routes to take. Great eateries and prices in local quaint town. Leaving would bring tears to a glass eye---I should know.

Good breakfast to start the day

This place is off the beaten path and a hidden gem.  It is quiet and beautiful. The house has a homey vibe and it's facing a small lake which gives it a romantic feel. I was very surprised and extremely delighted with its affordability juxtaposing the services we received. We were a party of 10 that stayed and all of us agreed that it was more than a bargain. An absolute antithesis for the cliche of too good to be true, or that cheap is cheap and that you get what you pay for. We only paid £69 for two nights and that's including a really yummy, warm and freshly cooked breakfast. A real breakfast and not just continental, which most inexpensive hostels and inns here in California offer for that price. 

Mary was a very nice host and very helpful. She happily asks where we are off to or what our itinerary is for the day and gladly suggests places to visit and where to find good eats. We would love to come back and visit Ireland and definitely stay here again.

Hidden Gem!

Having never been to Ireland, we took a chance on all the places we stayed! 
The Waterfront House Country Home did not disappoint
Amazing setting by the lake and off the beaten path.
Peaceful, relaxing, serene.
A very pretty B&B, clean and comfortable. 
Our Hostess Mary was warm, welcoming, helpful, and very kind.
Mary was also extremely kind and was able to offer me a hot water bottle to help with an aching back.
Thanks for all your help and dedication. 
Breakfast was incredible and kept us going until dinner.
Mary was full of information on where to go for an amazing dinner experience!
We loved our time in Oughterard at your B&B!

Waterfront Serenity

Fantastic place to stay, Mary and Tom made us so welcome. Mary , when asked, told us of interesting places to visit, and never disappointed us. She also gave us names of places to eat. Couldn’t have asked for better! Beautiful location, with the water from Lough Corrine lapping and sparkling so beautifully. Loved it, miss it!

We stayed at the Waterfront House our first two nights after arriving in Ireland. It's over 1km further once you turn off at the Oughterard golf course; pretty much the last house at the end of the road.  We found it to be excellent value for money.  The property is clean and tidy and quiet.  Mary provided a quality breakfast and  gave us excellent suggestions for local restaurants and touring around the Connemara peninsula.The ensuite in our room was a bit cramped, but that was my only criticism.

A Base for Touring the Connemara

Off the main road enough to be quiet, situated on the lake, within walking distance of castle ruins and only a short ride to Ougtherard, very nice rooms with country and lake views and incredible hosts... not sure why anyone would go elsewhere. I was there 10 days and hope to return some time in the future with friends and family. Thank you Tom & Mary for helping to make my stay there comfortable. I was working so I just went out sightseeing one day but when I asked about things to do Mary provided all I needed. I drove to Cong (and it was a lovely town) as one of my favorite movies is The Quiet Man which was filmed in that area. What did I not see! I saw castles, lovely church ruins, an old, quaint and beautiful town filled with warmth. Went shopping and was able to purchase Aran wool sweaters. Leaving there I drove around the Catamaran (not sure if I have that name right) Park to the coast and to Cliford (for a walk along the coastal trial and then stopped off in Oughterard for supper at a local restaurant and pub. If you wanted the bustle of the city you could go to Galaway. But I prefer simpler places with rich history and that is scattered all around the Waterfront.Remarkable. You can see God's hand all over the countryside. Thank you Mary & Tom for EVERYTHING!!!
