Mary was a wonderful host. We had a wedding in Stoneyford and was so convenient to return home to. Beautiful setting, comfy bedroom and lovely breakfast. I would highly recommend and would return in the future.

Really enjoyable

Mary and John were so welcoming and fun to talk to. The beds are more comfortable than our bed at home! The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. It’s a bit out of the way so finding somewhere for dinner, without going back in to Kilkenny, was a bit of a challenge but we ended up with some good local food. Thank you, Mary and John, your place is lovely.

Delightful

We stayed for one night at the Oldtown Farmhouse B&B. Mary greeted us right away.  She welcomed us and stayed to chat as we gathered our belongings and settled into our rooms. She also spent a bit with us when we returned from dinner and were planning in the lounge. Our ensuite room was well-sized and our beds were comfortable. The parking is plentiful for all guests. Mary is very friendly, talkative, and kind. This B&B has quite a few rooms. Her breakfast was delicious. My husband enjoyed all his Irish Breakfasts. She was very helpful in helping us plan our itinerary with regard to the weather. Although more in the countryside, it is a short drive to walk around the cute town, with the streets full of dining options. We picked this B&B from bandbireland.com given to us by our travel company. We enjoyed our stay and we highly recommend this B&B.

Lovely Country B&B

Mary Fitzgerald was welcoming and helpful when we visited Kilkenny.  A short drive into the countryside to a lovely setting.  Her breakfast was delicious and her suggestion for dinner was perfect.
We would happily stay at the Oldtown Farmhoise any time!

A Lovely Escape to the Country

The b&b was lovely and in very idyllic surroundings, however we were woken up quite early to be told that we would need to leave the property before 10am as the hosts themselves had to leave the house. This was not ideal timing and unfortunately quite disruptive to our stay. I would suggest double checking check-out time with hosts before you book your stay to avoid disturbance.

Mary's B&B is picture perfect.  All of the rooms are spacious as well as the ensuite bathrooms.  The bedrooms are beautifully decorated.
  The location is peaceful and beautiful.  Mary is very welcoming and has always served us tea and a snack when we arrrive.  She has a ring fort on her property and always has time to show it to guests.  Her breakfasts are very good and filling.  We always enjoy our time with Mary and John.

Lovely home and hostess

Had a great stay here. Mary is a brilliant hostess, great to talk to and very friendly. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was the best ive had in Ireland. Would highly reccomend staying here.

Home and landscaping are beautiful, room was very nice. Small, but nice bathroom with good shower pressure. We had a very odd welcome as the husband did not acknowledge us even though he was working in the yard. Mary was very kind, but made us fairly uncomfortable as she is socially awkward and check in felt very unnatural.

An absolutely beautiful B&B with equally amazing hosts.  Sparkling clean,comfortable rooms with wonderful hosts and,of course a great breakfast!  One couldn’t ask for.a better experience.  We got to see a ring fort on the property as well as a tour of spectacular greenhouses owned and operated by a family member!  Not only did we have a great B&B but we also had a few history lessons.  Supurb!
