Terrible disregard to customer request. 
Asked the owner to give me a quiet room because my sensitive sleep. Instead of that the owner convinced myself to stay in the offered room which was facing towards the road by telling me that the noise isolation is good. After badly night (was hearing every car passing by) told that to the owner but got only his astonishment in return. No apology or simple sorry. No compensation for inconvenience of course. 
He tried to "explain" that he had no other room available, but  there are more than 50 rooms in the hotel and I barely saw may be 20 cars maximum in the parking area and same amount of guests in dining room during dinner and breakfast. Actually saw few free opened rooms when discovered the hotel in my arrival.

And There is no WIFI in the rooms.

Ignorance to customer needs.

After three weeks in Ireland and two visits to the Cedar Lodge Hotel I can safely say we've found our home away from home. Thank you for your welcoming hospitality, all your help and assistance, your caring and support regarding anyything we needed and always wholeheartedly and with a smile. There is no doubt in my mind that we'll see you again soon.

Home away from Home

When I stayed here with my wife the hotel was eerily quiet.  We stayed for 2 nights and did not see another guest on either night.  The rooms are well overdue a makeover and although reasonably clean just give you that feeling that you should have had a little more luxury for the price.  On the subject of price I did feel that we did not get good value for money.  This hotel is listed as one of the "Original Irish Hotels" properties and I would have to say that having stayed in a number of those properties over the last number of years this one does not stack up to the quality I would have expected at the price point.

We had dinner on one evening and the food was okay but nothing to write home about and again the high price was not reflected in the quality of the food.

I would have to say that this is one property that I will not be visiting again but maybe we just hit on a bad time.

Average at best

I stopped in whilst passing as the place catches the eye when passing. Only wanted some food which while pricey enough was simply superb.

I was the only person in the bar and given a menu by the person manning the desk who brought me in and gave me a table. It was set with a cloth and the menu had some real imagination and I went with the Venison mains. Prior to it coming, a bread basket with some fresh black olive and cheesy breads were present and they were lovely. The mains itself though were just gorgeous. Two good size cuts of meat with peppered butter and veg was just divine. I couldn't fault it. Followed on by a house style trifle with rich red fruits was just the finisher. As mentioned before it was a bit on the pricy side but with such a surprisingly good meal, it was worth it.

Excellent Food

We stayed at this hotel during the bank holiday weekend in August. The hotel is in a great location with plenty of amenities within a 30 minute drive or less. The room was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was cooked to order and very fresh. We also had a lovely evening meal in the hotel. There was plenty of choice on the menu and the food was very fresh. The portion sizes were generous too. We found the owners of the hotel to be very helpful and happy to suggest places to visit in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Cedar Lodge and we would recommend it as a great base to explore the many walks and tourist attractions around Wexford.

The Cedar Lodge

We stayed over in this hotel over last weekend. 
We were charged up front as we came in. I would not normally pay up front however we were tired and under pressure to attend an event locally.

It would have been difficult to extract €298 for 2 people for our 2 nights after the stay!

We were shown to our room which even with the windows and door open was VERY musty and smelly.

We went about our business during the day and returned late that night. The room was still musty however our earlier festivities got the better of us.

We had some time to kill on day 2 of our stay however I could not sit in our room for hours waiting for nightfall!

We stayed out until late on day 2 and on our return we got a few large drinks from the bar to put us to sleep.

Breakfast was clean and simple on both days.

The hotel needs a good revamp. 

In fairness the owners were polite and trying hard to please.

Conveniently situated for exploring the east coast from Cork to Dublin. Comfortable stay. Irish breakfast is a heart attack on a plate but who cares when you are on holiday. Dined in each evening. The food was faultless except quantity too much. Try the Prawn cocktail made with Dublin Bay prawns. Downside out of draft Guinness.
Owner very friendly and full of local knowledge.

3 day stay

Situated in  nice grounds on the Wexford New Ross roadm. Large clean bedrooms , can easily fit a small family , safe car park, breakfast  full Irish , well prepared and served fresh , cooked to order , friendly staff with a warm welcome .

The Cedar Lodge Hotel

I had a wonderful stay at The Cedar Lodge! I arrived in the evening and received a warm welcome from the owner. The hotel was clean and comfortable. I was especially impressed with the small touches like the electric blanket warming my bed before I arrived. I stayed for dinner and had the most delicious Dublin Bay prawn cocktail and great wines from South Africa. As I had an early ferry next morning the host got up early especially to prepare me a delicious breakfast and even gave me a newspaper for my ferry crossing. I highly recommend this place and will be back!
