It was fine but not special. Clean enough, not especially comfortable. I think you could do better but hostess, Mrs. Rosie was very nice. It was just kind of spartan. I would not stay again.Nothing to be frightened of and we stayed during a horsebackriding trip but if you don't need to board a horse, I would stay elsewhere. Even the horses did not love.

Fine but nothing special

Was staying in Donegal town and decided to call at Moorland Guesthouse for some reflexology. Just arrived without appointments but Rosie was free and was delighted to accommodate both of us with treatments straightaway. I had stayed here before so I knew what to expect from my treatment and I was not disappointed. It was an hour of total bliss in her beautiful treatment room. Afterwards I sat outside drinking tea and enjoying the tranquility of the moors while my friend had her treatment.
It was the most peaceful afternoon I have had in a long time. Thank you Rosie and next time I am in Donegal I will call again.

Heavenly

This was a nice place near Donegal Bay but not in the touristy area like many of them.  It was clean, but the beds were a little uncomfortable and there is only a single share TV and no WiFi.  The couple running it are extremely nice and the food was great.....all-in-all a good experience

Nice secluded B&B

We were on a weeklong horse riding trip and the Moorland Guesthouse was the one we had to stay in on account of horse boarding.
Having stayed at quite a few hotels and B & B's we had come to expect a certain standard.
This place fell well below our expectations, the room was spartan, a small piece of used soap in the bathroom, no TV, no internet,no kettle for tea or coffee, no water bottles.The dinner consisting of salmon was overcooked, very overcooked. The profiteroles, ok. Only later we found out about the lounge, we were never informed but found out from other guests this was no loss. The host, Walter never introduced himself, nor did Rosie but t least we saw her!
The breakfast was very poor, there was a shortage of Muesli which was substituted with corn flakes.Sorry folks, not our cup of tea.

Not what was expected

No coffee/tea upon arrival... none in room either...no water provided (tap water was brownish altho it tasted ok)...   no soap in room, beds were miniature.... meal was merely adequate... 
Beautiful location altho no trails etc offered for walking if available.... no tv, no wifi....you need a book if you plan to stay.....
Place has a lot of potential.... w energized owners

f eight 3 star plasces i stayed in during 2 wks in ireland...worst!

... kind of remote, but a very easy 15 minute drive into Donegal town through some pretty countryside.  On one trip into town we actually saw a complete rainbow arch, actually hitting the ground on both sides on the flat meadow.  No guarantee of that, of course, but it wouldn't be possible in the town itself.  Rooms lack TV, but if you are busy in Donegal and venture out to Slieve League, you'll be tired enough to do without it and be ensured a peaceful night's sleep in the Irish countryside.  In contrast to some of the other comments, we found the hosts to be extremely hospitable and friendly - no complaints!
