Very basic hostel, stayed here as part of a Paddy wagon tour and I wouldn't want to stay here again. The dorms look a bit like prison cells, and there are almost no plugs for 8 people to charge, no places to store your stuff, no bed lamps. There's a bathroom in the dorm which was a bit grotty and no additional communal bathrooms which for 8 people who are all leaving at the same time was a bit stressful! Also no hot water in the morning. The two stars are for the decent brekkie served down the road. 

Cheap and not cheerful 

This accommodation was the WORST experience of my life! The taps were broken, the toilet cramped near windows, black mold on the shower. The bathroom smelt like that of three outhouses combined!! Plus a big brown mark on the blanket! I have never been so grossed out. The staff was also not reachable. We knocked on the door and nothing.

Just Horrifying

This property is now also active as "New Street Lodge" which is the same house as "Paddy's Palace". If the room we got was offered as a hostel room and charged a half, one could say you get what you paid for. But for what is called "Family Deluxe Suite" and charged almost 100€/night the conditions were unbearable. The house is dirty, poorly maintained and has problems with hot water supply. Fortunately we stayed only one night. 1) In the late evening the hot water stopped and there was no staff to complain to, so I texted them but never got a reply. Next morning there was still neither hot water nor any staff. No wonder the room has kind of sweat smell as guests cannot wash themselves... 2) Most towels were disgusting, with big black and brown stains. The bedding was not really well washed either. 3) The windows locks in both bathrooms were broken so windows permanently opened independently from wind blows and let the cold in (it was about 5°C outside). 4) The shower tray in one of the bathrooms was unbelievable dirty, as was the white room door. 5) The electric heater barely worked. 6) The fridge in the kitchen had a strong disgusting smell and the whole kitchen was not really clean. 7) The furniture is pieced together: beds, nightstands and lamps are new (one bed is broken though), the rest is very dated. There are no sockets near the doble bed, so the bed lamp is just a decoration. 8) The room is freshly painted but the bathrooms are not renovated. Conclusion: it's not deluxe, it's scam.

Stay away. Dirty, tired, poorly managed.

I spent one night there. It's a good place to spend a night and very affordable.

The instructions for check-in check-out could be better explained, and also what to do with bed sheets, how to enter the building... The front door is closed, so I had to wait a couple of times outside the building, before checking-in (I arrived late) and after leaving my backpack there after checking-out.

Good place for backpackers, cheap and easy. The bathrooms are clean and breakfast is decent.

Good enough hostel

I didn't experience any issues with the hostel. It's closed between 2pm an 4pm.

10 bed mixed room was adequate. Beds were excellent. Comfortable for 6'3". Plenty of sockets for charging mobiles.

Adequate bathroom and toliet facilities. Clean and tidy.

Small lounge with TV.

15 mins walk from the bus station.

€10.0 key deposit.

So far so good...Great little hostel

The French guy who checked us in was awesome.  The room was warm and very quiet.  The ensuite was adequate.   Dunne's food and clothing store is right next door.  Parking is free a few hundred metres away next to the cathedral.  Good kitchen, toast and cereal for breakfast.

Pretty good for a hostel

It is a cheap hostel, at first it looked cosy and small. Like a student dorm room. However we got real life keys instead of something electronical. The guy that was in our room left the door open. Therefore the stuff was not locked. There were also no lockers available. The air ventilator was broken in the toilet which made an awful noise. The bed’s were okay, it was good to have a personal bathroom. However for us, the roommate made us feel very uncomfortable. It was not dirty but also not especially clean. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. It is allright if you are searching a small and simple hostel but do not expect something fancy.

Four room apartment

I came here for the 2nd time after 3 months and the staff still remembered me. They are very friendly people, the rooms are spacious and the continental breakfast is very good for Irish hostel standards.

The location is just out of the city center, which gives you access to both the exciting centre and a quiet night of sleep.

5/5, will come again if I'm in Killarney!

Amazing staff, spacy rooms, good breakfast

This place is a little bit away from crowded downtown Killarney, which is good and bad. The advantage is that you won't be annoyed by the noise from the tourists in the pubs or the streets. The disadvantage is that it takes 15 minutes to walk from the train station. So, remember to pack light if you want to stay here. The dining area is nice and clean. It is also close to a Tesco and Dunnes Store, which makes shopping for food to cook easier. Unfortunately, the staff on duty doesn't seem to be able to provide enough travel information we need. If you stay here and plan to take a day tour with Paddy Wagon, remember to ask the hostel to book it for you to get a discount.
