My sister and I were looking for fairly inexpensive accommodations that were walkable to Killarney’s city center. Carranross B&B was economical, but comfortable, clean and inviting. The owner, Mary, was friendly, helpful and welcoming, despite there being other guests (there are three or four guest rooms), it was quiet. The kitchen was stocked with cereal, coffee, tea, eggs, and some fantastic sourdough bread. We understand Mary had to make adjustments to accommodate Covid, and now that breakfast is back, it’s self-catering. That was fine with us! I also found the kitchen a great place to get some early morning (6:30-8 am) work done on my laptop without disruption. There was also a lounge area for reading. The housekeeping staff was also helpful when we arrived, quickly and cheerfully accommodating an adjustment to our room features. The bathroom was roomy, newly renovated and had a GREAT shower. It’s not easy to find accommodations in Killarney in August that fit our budget, so we were incredibly happy with Carranross B&B.

Comfortable and economical place to stay

Stayed in the b&b for 1 night. I was traveling to Dublin via train from Killarney for an interview so I decided to stay overnight in Killarney. Mary was very welcoming. When I mentioned that I was going to park the car in the car park in the train station, Mary said that I could leave it her space and she'd happily drop me off to the station. The 2 yorkies are brilliant to see on arrival!! Can't fault the place at all to be honest...

Wow!!

Large room, clean and airey. Water in shower never really got hot, but was warm enough. Wifi dropped on and off. Continental breakfast was pretty good, cereal, waffles, bread, juice, tea and coffee.
Dining room area was not the cleanest, and had an unpleasant odour.
Mary was friendly and helpful.

Good budget accomodation

Such a beautiful house with an even more wonderful host! Mary was fantastic! She is very knowledgable about the area and has wonderful recommendations for places to see and where to eat. She is exceptionally accommodating and made the most delicious breakfasts for us! Mary made us feel right at home and provided us with our favourite stay in Ireland :)

Amazing host & house!

Mary was an outstanding host for our family, providing excellent tips on local attractions and advice for getting around.  The property is well maintained and in a good location - easy walk into Killarney town center.  The rooms are large by B&B standards and very comfortable.  Mary provides a nice choice of breakfast options.

Excellent Host and Home Base

Mary was a great host.  She set-up day trips for us for the Ring of Kerry & Dingle Peninsula.  We got picked up one day right at the house, the other day, Mary took drove us to the bus.  She was also kind enough to drive my husband into town one morning for drop off laundry service, then took him back for pick-up.  The bed was very comfortable, and after staying in a hotel in Dublin for 3 nights, it seemed very quiet.  The walk into town was around 10 minutes and we made the walk back late evening, never felt unsafe  It was our first experience in a B&B and Mary made it an awesome experience for both of us.

Good location, great place to stay

Mary was a great host and the rooms were great. Mary provided a good parking area and the location was great, we were only 5 minutes walking distance to town. Mary gave us recommendations for food and attractions in the area. Mary also setup a tour for the "Ring of Kerry". I recommend a stay if you have the opportunity.
