Ashbrook House B&B

Although it's been over a month since we stayed here, Ashbrook House remains in our memories of favorite experiences. We drove from the Dublin airport straight to Ashbrook House, arriving late in the afternoon. We were greeted by the most friendly, funny owner, Dermott. It's located in the country, several miles from town, but for weary travelers trying to adjust to time changes, etc., this was the perfect place to land. It was quiet (only one other room was occupied when we were there), pastoral, soothing, and comfortable. The host provided us with plenty of information and recommendations of where to go/what to see, and gave helpful suggestions for our itinerary for the next several days. Our only regret was that we did not have more time and did not use it as a base for taking a couple of day trips to explore the southeast counties/cities of Ireland. Next time!
