Irish Cottage Guest Accommodation

I recently stayed a night here with friends. Both rooms were decently sized and the man who checked us in was very nice to us. We were in perfect walking distance from the town centre and Killarney National Park. The breakfast the next day was very nice and the food was cooked to order. Altogether it was the perfect stay and reasonably priced. 

Stayed here for two nights. It's basically your typical Irish B&B. Rooms were clean and tidy - a few loose fittings and a squeaky door handles, curtain holders, etc, as you'd expect after years of use. Corridor not noisy as such, but you may hear others moving around in the morning. Breakfast was tea/coffee, juice, yoghurt, fruit, cereal, toast, eggs, bacon, sausages and tomato.

Stayed here the night of munster football final replay and even though the reviews weren't wonderfull I found the wayside to be perfect,Super location (7min walk into town) Owner very nice and welcoming, Pub straight across the road if you didn't want to go into town,Breakfast was also very nice and overall the wayside guest house was perfect for us.

Perfect location and cosy rooms 

Pleasant stay

We stayed for two nights in a twin room.  Our room (with ensuite) was small and a bit dated but comfortable and fairly central - we decided to take a taxi back/forth from the centre of town.  It was quiet at night which was great.  There is free parking outside.  Staff were attentive, kind and helpful.  The lovely breakfast was cooked to order each morning.  We had wifi and tea in the room.  Great value overall for an extremely popular Irish destination in the middle of summer.

We stayed here on the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle weekend as we were doing the cycle. Despite having 5 rooms in the b & b doing this cycle, the owner didn't even show up for breakfast, just left out a loaf of bread, no toaster, no kettle to make tea or coffee and cereal with very little milk so with 5 rooms having breakfast early that was gone quick. We left at 7:45, no sign of him arriving.
Worse than this, there were fleas in the bed, when going to sleep we both felt itchy but it wasn't until the next day that we realised why, we had been bitten from head to toe by fleas, a complete disgrace in this day & age. The throw over the bed was also stained & dirty. The rooms are very basic, but if they were properly clean it wouldn't be so bad, the bathroom was ok.
The room was also very noisy as the doors of all the rooms are locked using a lock & long metal key, so we were awoken several times during the night & continuously from 5am onwards, as every time a person went in or out of their room & used the key it was very loud.
I wouldn't be giving this accommodation any rating only a minus one only I had to in order to leave a review.
With the huge amount of accommodation available in Killarney, spend your money elsewhere & get something worthwhile for your money. I have stayed in lots of other places in Killarney previously for less money that are a lot better. I don't know how this place has not been closed down by health inspectors due to the fleas.
We were also given the WIFI code but there was no actual WIFI available to connect to.
