Stayed for two nights , very welcoming, great room and lovely breakfast,  Nothing was too much trouble and great local knowledge, a fantastic base to explore the ring of brera . will be on our return list

We really liked this place. We were supposed to have stayed one night but turned it into three! Location to town was great and jumping on The Ring of Beara or The Ring of Kerry is really convenient. We really enjoyed their breakfast and the hostess, Siobhan (Shavon) was absolutely wonderful. We really recommend staying here.

I cannot say enough about Siobhan and her brother. They could not have been more accommodating to our group of nine weary travelers. The place is comfy and clean and close to everything. Highly recommend! Thanks Siobhan!

I stayed in this nice B&B for just one night, the thing I was most please with was the staff I met, very kind and helpful and always open for a chat!
Rooms are spacious and very clean, with all the essentials you might need!
Definitely recommended!

Nice and welcoming B&B!

Exceptional Service!

Stayed here for a midweek 2 night stay and paid just under €300 for B & B, very overpriced.
Our room was very big, bed linen was nice but curtains, bedside lamps all very dated and faded. The bathroom was large but there is no extractor fan and hence the bathroom was full of condensation.  The bathroom radiator was covered in rust as was the shelf in the shower.  There was also a random mis matched shelf over the toilet which had a piece missing.
When in your room you can hear the people in the next room in their bathrooom!
Breakfast was just ok but the staff were very accommodating and friendly.
You couldn’t get a better location, only a 5 min walk into the town and I expect that’s what you pay for, it certainly wouldn’t be for the room.  Unfortunately I wouldn’t stay here again.

Needs Updating

We arrived for our 2 night stay to find a neglected garden with dog poo on bush at front door. Musty smell on entering.but given lovely welcome from the lady who gave us our key. Carpets worn but clean. Room fairly large accommodating 3 beds,nothing special. Beds comfy, we all slept well. I had read previous reviews about fab breakfast but really  disappointed in basic unexciting breakfast, though staff pleasant and helpful. All in all far too expensive for what you get. House in great position for walking into Kilmare. Never met the owner. With the number of B&B in area there has to be better than this. So no I won't be back.

Nothing special

We stayed 4 nights at the Brass Lantern because it was ideally situated for the golf club.  Our room and bathroom were both spacious but lacked the little extras one would have expected at the price, i.e. toiletries, biscuits, etc.  One irritation was the small kettle which had to be plugged in below the table and then unplugged to pour into the small cups.  The 'famous' Irish Breakfast was also a big disappointment.  Overall it was below par.
