Rockbarton House Hotel

I recommended to bring my relatives from America and England here last evening. What a pleasant surprise, a once very dated and tired hotel/bar has been transformed by a local couple during these tough times into an ‘absolute gem‘. Hidden in the heart of salthill just off the promenade, in the quite residential area of Rockbarton salthill, you will find a beautifully transformed building. From arrival you are greeted with a warm welcome and directed into a very cosy bar/restaurant. The decor resembles that of an antique Chique venue with new freshness meeting old school in boutique style colours and furnishings, giving an immediate sense of warmth And coziness. The food was fantastic thanks to head chef Jay, I had hot chicken wings with a perfect blue cheese dip, a taste of the yummy black pudding croquettes and a perfectly cooked medium steak With all the trimmings, washed down with a fabulous Merlot served at perfect temperature. The kids had the best garlic bread EVER! Apparently! I Can’t wait to go back and try more of what’s on offer, and our visitors felt the same. We had a lovely secluded area of the bar which gave us the privacy we requested yet The enjoyment of Being in a vibrant energetic new venue. The owners where there serving food and clearing tables being extremely attentive yet not overwhelming to our service needs which reflects their commitment to quality. So wonderful to see such positivity during these very strange times. Now more than ever we all need to support or own people and our local businesses.
