A really nice pub
Traditional pub that’s very comfortable and friendly
If you are in Salthill it’s definitely worthwhile calling in for a few jars
Nicely decorated with horse racing on the tvs and comfy seating

I can’t rate this place highly enough. Situated in the hills with breathtaking views of the stunning coastline, Villa Ketty is a fantastic find. Antonio and his wife Denise lead a fabulous team who cannot do enough to ensure you have the most fabulous stay. Winding roads lead down into the nearby town and if you continue on further,  you hit the beach clubs. The train station is just a short walk away and provides quick and easy access to Sorrento and the rest of the Amalfi Coast. In the opposite direction is Pompeii. At Villa Ketty you are treated to a breakfast of dreams, full of homegrown ingredients. Our room was charmingly decorated, comfortable and cleaned daily. But most impressively we had views directly out onto the beautiful coastline. Highly recommend.

The hotel is clean, centrally located to shops, promenade and restaurants. It is a budget hotel and perfectly acceptable on all accounts. Staff I met were friendly, my room was serviced every day with fresh towels and bed tidied. The room was quiet with plenty of space. For what I have paid I think this is excellent accommodation. I would certainly stay here again.

We were in holiday hotel for one night in late June. Great location , outstanding rooms , which looks like refurb very recently. very clean room. Easy check in even it was very late in the day. I would highly recommend anyone looking to crash in to Galway for the night to use this hotel as their accomadation. Not pushing for check out time even though we checked out on time.

Fabulous family holiday!!

Great pub

Good location close to the prom and bars, restaurants etc.  Room was basic but clean, in need of update. Bathroom was small but clean - also in need of update. Staff were friendly. Parking is nearby but you have to pay (reasonable price).  The pics don’t really illustrate the reality if I’m honest but if you just want to get your head down for a night, it’s ok

In need of refurbishment

Arrived at 21.00 with my son. I had a problem with my debit card
but the manager said it would be OK in the morning.
At 23.30 he appeared at our door and told us we had to leave.
My son was twelve years old and we had nowhere to stay.

We had a terrible night outside as I tried to keep my son's spirits
up. The manager was easily one of the most disgusting, evil 
human beings I have met. Before that experience Galway
was one of my favourite places. Ever since I've hated it with
a passion.

Stay away.

DO NOT STAY HERE ! I arrived here as an over night stay guest as I have stayed here before (for a night out so wasn’t barely in the accommodation) but when I arrived I checked in and less than 1hour later I unfortunately had to check out due to reasons beyond my control! (Also noticed was given a very different room then my first stay this one was terrible and claustophobic with a small window looking out at a drain pipe and run down building) I went to the front desk and hastily had to leave but had to wait for someone to come to me as they work in the bar also I then gave the key to the girl at reception telling her I had to quickly leave who didn’t seem bothered ! I then reach out to them and ask was there any ways of sorting a refund as I only was there for 40minutes or so and I heard nothing back ! Week or two later I reach out to booking.com which were very helpful and explained my situation and they said refunds aren’t always given but given my circumstances it shouldn’t really be an issue to my surprise I got a reply yesterday saying holiday hotel did not authorise the refund ! I’m not one to ever leave a bad review but I just can’t comprehend the lack of decency on there behalf it isn’t exactly a 4 star hotel and they should be trying to keep there customers coming back not pushing them away ! I urge any one waiting here unless ye are goin to be out partying half the night and don’t need to be physically there it is not worth the price atall ! Stay away!

DO NOT STAY HERE!

Booked on bookings.com around 9pm, to check -in between 10-11pm. Got there at 10.15pm, to be told by quite possibly the rudest individual I’ve ever encountered, not only in the hospitality sector, but in any professional capacity, that he had given our room to a walk-in a while earlier, that the system mustn’t have updated, and then he proceeded to walk away from us back into the bar. We were dumbfounded both by his ignorant attitude but also by the fact that even though we had an email confirming our booking, we were now without a room for the night. I went into the bar to get some clarification and was greeted with the most appalling hostile attitude from this person. I was left very upset by his aggressive attitude. Myself and my son ended up driving back home as it was too late to find alternative accommodation. This man should not be working in the hospitality trade. He clearly hates his job, or the hotel or maybe just himself. Would not recommend.

Worst ever

The one positive point first: The hotel is nicely located directly at the coast a bit out of Galway. There is bus station close by with a direct connection to Galways.

Wenn now the downsides. The hotel is directly above a pub and the rooms are poorly soundproofed. We heard everything that was happening in the other rooms and staircase as wells as loud music from the pub until 3am.
Even though the hotel is supposed to be non-smoking, the pub isn't and the smoke comes trough the open door up the staircase into the hotel part of the building. The view from our window was onto a rooftop with a lot of clutter and a ventilation machine which presumably ventilates the pub. Every couple of hours it would start blowing out air (even trough the closed window) and the room would smell of cigarette smoke. The machine sounded like an aeroplane starting, even at night.

The beds were comfy, though a queen size bed is a bit small for two people. The bathroom was way too small. The sink could barely fit two hands in there and the water stopped running immediately when not pushing down the button anymore. The shower was pretty small as well, rain shower only and the shower head hangs about a meter above the head which causes the water to just drizzle on the head.

Do not stay here!

NEVER GO THERE IF YOU NEED ANY KIND OF ASISTANCE. The personnel are completely unprofessional. Almost all time there was nobody at the reception, so if you neede something npbody could help. 
I have asked for the receipt of my payment and I after already 20 days I could not receive anything. I have called, wrote email, wrote through Booking.com where I did the reservation from, but they completely ignored my request. I went for work and ı anticipate the payment. Because of the,r unqualificable behavior I have lost 270 euros. DO NOT GO, ,f you go for work and  you need an official proof of your payment.
