Doolin House

This place was absolutely perfect! There are two lodges (houses). We, a party of 3, stayed in the smaller of the two. It was so nice and fit the surroundings perfectly. Our lodge was comfortable and well appointed. Room by room and I’ll start with the living room. It had comfortable furniture and invited you to sit down and relax. The large window looks out onto a small fenced pasture where two gorgeous horses are running around. It was idyllic. There’s a dining area with a table for 4 where we ate breakfast every morning. There were two bedrooms each having their own attached bathroom. The kitchen is large and the owners generously provided homemade bread, fresh juice, milk, and coffee. There’s a washer and dryer that were very convenient. The lodge is only a 5 min walk to the heart of town. This is where you can find lovely Irish sweaters and throws made of soft wool in The Sweater Shop (you can’t miss it, the store is painted pink). There are restaurants and, of course you are at the foot of the Cliffs of Moar. If you go to Doolin, this is absolutely the place to stay. And you simply must do yourself the favor of including their breakfast. Their breakfast, WOW, is incredible. We’re not usually breakfast eaters but if we could have breakfast like this all the time we’d do it. The owners, Neils and Dora, quietly come in each morning and lay out an amazing spread including a homemade frittata, bread, yogurt, fruit, salami, cheese, jams, orange juice, and milk.- much of it’s homemade and all so delicious!
