Home from home.  Loved the room which I was booked into. Very comfy bed,  Brilliant reception on TV.   Perfect location, close to an amazing cafe and local shops.  The Proprietor Oliver is very unique, wonderful character, very friendly.    One particular bar staff was extremely helpful, friendly and had a warm personality.   I felt completely at home in this very friendly hotel.  I will be returning soon and Im hoping that I can book the same room as before as i made myself qt home in it.   Best Hotel ever, Best Location and I highly recommend it.    Theresa

Food choice exceptional

I have recently moved to Randalstown after travelling about and originally coming from Brighton; which hosts an incredible food scene. 
Now, being a small village, Randalstown serves up more homely foods and I was beginning to miss the 'foodie' experience. 
Me and my partner took my family, all from Brighton, to the black bull one Sunday and were NOT disappointed! This place not only serves wholesome local foods, it does it in such a way you feel like you're eating a real treat. We all had a different option from the Sunday menu.
I had the roast chicken; each morsel was well seasoned, full of flavour and tasted so fresh and I  addition, presented so beautifully. Think Masterchef♡ the lamb particularly came to the table in an innovative way.
Proper top marks! 
We have been back since and again couldn't fault the food, setting and warm and friendy staff. 
Sadly I didn't take a picture, I'll be sure to next time!

The Black Bull is only 7 Miles from Belfast International, Randalstown is a great place to stay people very friendly and Lavertys has got to be one of the best Bars in the World, I have not laughed so much in years, and the Guiness is to die for, rooms are large and very comfortable and you will get a good nights sleep, cannot fault anything.😊😊😊😊😊


My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights during the Open Golf Championship at Portrush.  We really enjoyed Randalstown itself.  It was a quaint, peaceful location, clean with numerous flowers on display around the town.  As for Lavertys, there was a mistake on the original booking which was swiftly resolved.  We were room only.  I'm not sure if establishment offers breakfast or evening meal.  There was a restaurant at the back of the building but it didn't seem to be used.  The room was basic and slightly outdated.  But it was ok for our requirements.  The bed was too soft for our liking but maybe ok for others.  The staff were friendly.  We paid £60 a night room only for 2 people.  There are quite a few other pubs in the town and a small friendly cafe too across the road.  The people in Randalstown were really friendly.   We caught a local bus to Antrim and from there we went by train to Portrush and Belfast.   The last bus back from Antrim was about 18.30pm.

The Black Bull is situated in a beautiful village with plenty of places to eat, along with several supermarkets.  The staff were really friendly & the room as was nice & clean.  There was free Wi-Fi in the public area but not in the rooms.  There are quite a lot of stairs & there is a function room on the first floor which can sometimes be a bit noisy.

A nice place, we arrived a bit late and they let us in no problem.  Rooms above the pub.  It was off season so there was only hot water at specific times which I did not like.  The heat took a while to warm up the rooms.  However, it was clean and convenient and the publican was very nice.

When we first arrived at the black bull inn, we where greeted with a warm reception. The young lady that we met was very friendly and approachable. On first glance of the room it seemed basic but OK.  We thought it was an average pub for the locals of the village to enjoy a night together.  We sampled the spirits,beer and cider all drinks was very good and the pint of Tennant's we would give 10/10.  As for the rooms available they are not worth the money nor even the stay.  The bed was "creeky" and uncomfortable. Bed linen was clean although the throw had white stains underneath and clearly had not been washed. The room was absolutely freezing I had to sleep with a jacket on with hood up over my p.jz. the TV in the room wasn't working and when I mentioned it to the young girl nothing was said to me.  We decided to go back to the room to discover that without even asking there was a man in our room with our belongings that we didn't know trying to fix it. After a terrible cold night tossing and turning I got up in the morning wanting a hot shower to warm myself up and to get ready for the day as we had an important meeting to attend. We couldn't shower as the water was cold, we waited up until 11am as check out was at 12pm for hot water and it was still cold (ice cold)  we had to leave this inn not washed , in our clothes from the night before and go to our homes to get a shower for our day.  It was all together just a terrible place to stay would not recommend this place to anyone it is just a pub for local people to drink and the rooms are there just for the owner to make a bit of extra cash.  There is no thought put into the rooms for the guests and you can find a better hotel for around the same price with a comfortable bed clean linen hot shower and fab stay for the same price.  We have stayed in many ie:  Whitehorse in Londonderry (55pounds)  and travel lodge (54pounds)  and there is many more. Would not recommend for an over night stay but would recommend for a pint.  That's about it
