Perfect breakfast and super location. Frederique is very kind and we had a lovely   night stay. The B&B is in a lovely situation on the lower sky road just outside Cliften, Connemara. An excellent base for touring in the area!

Perfect breakfast and perfect hostess. Frederica was amazing, so helpful with plenty of thoughts on what to do. We had a lovely 4 night stay at her B&B which is in a lovely situation on the lower sky road just outside Cliften, Connemara. An excellent base for touring in the area.

Frederique was absolutely lovely and gave us many tips to visit Clifden and its surroundings. The room was so beautifully decorated and very cozy and the breakfast was delicious with fresh pastries made the evening before. We will come back. 

Spotlessly clean and very comfortable room. Beautifully tranquil location overlooking the bay. Relieved to find there was no tv, so wonderfully quiet at night, only the sound of seabirds, ( there is wifi for those who need entertainment and a lounge downstairs). Breakfast was lovely, freshly prepared fruit salad, and my chosen combination of eggs and smoked salmon,  other options but essentially simple fresh food. In my opinion much better than a massive spread of prepacked 'E' numbers!  Would love to stay again. Thank you Frederique.

We received a warm welcome from Frederique who showed us to a lovely large room, spotlessly clean, with terrific views of the Atlantic bay and sea. The room reflected her French style and chic. The bed was comfy, wifi worked well and there was plenty of hot water.

Breakfast was a quality affair…the freshest fruit salad I’ve tasted. Lots of nice breads and jams and any hot food combination you desire. We chuckled when we got poached eggs, having asked for boiled eggs…something got lost in translation!

Frederique is a sublime hostess and this is a quality B&B … highly recommended.

My friend and I visited Clifton on 6th January and were lucky to find this ideal bnb. The owner, Frederique is an excellent host and looked after us really well. The rooms are tastefully and artistically decorated and I must say the ensuite bathrooms are the most spacious I have seen. The toiletries were very high quality. Frederique prepared a freshly cooked breakfast for us and also provided fresh fruit, home made bread, marmalade and little cherry pastries. The views are stunning, overlooking the bay. This is a bnb with a difference and very much worth a visit

This is one of the nicest B&Bs I have stayed in. It is beautifully decorated and maintained to a very high standard. The bedrooms and en-suites are well stocked and the breakfast was varied and tasty. The owner, a French lady named Frederique, was very welcoming and helpful. And if this wasn’t enough its setting is sublime. It’s a short drive outside the town overlooking Clifden Bay and is very close to the gorgeous Sky Road drive. Highly recommended.

Great to be able to get away for a few days again our first stop was here just outside of Clifden. This B&B is in a perfect location to access shops and restaurants but also in great location for sea views and for going exploring. The famous sky road is also near. Our host was a lovely lady and very welcoming 😊 and made an amazing full irish breakfast. 

This was one of the most lovely stays I have ever had in Ireland. The town is quaint with quite a few good pubs, and this little b&b is safe and homey. I stayed at Clifden Bay Lodge with my partner, and Frederique provided us with many recommendations and a cozy home cooked breakfast in a bright conservatory overlooking the beautiful bay. We were within driving distance of the gorgeous Connemara National Park, and 5 minutes drive from the Clifden Town Centre filled with delicious Guinness stew, and Irish music. It’s a cute little house on the Irish hillsides overlooking the sea, what more could you want?

The location of this B&B is 4kms from the town centre. This is offset by the spectacular views of Clifden Bay & the surrounding landscape. We received a very warm welcome from the hostess Frédérique, who was just lovely & a font of information about dining, pub entertainment & places to visit in the surrounding countryside. Frédérique presented a lovely breakfast & a comfortable bedroom with every detail provided. We really enjoyed our stay here & would thoroughly recommend this B&B as a highlight of our visit to Clifden.

Lovely Sea Views and Breakfast was Amazing!

The Perfect Stop

Friendly warm atmosphere with spectacular views

We had a delightful but much too short experience at the Clifden Lodge. It is situated across from a wide expanse of water off of the scenic Sky Road. There are horses in a pasture across from the lodge, which added to the picturesque setting. Our room was very tidy and spacious, with large skylights which provided views across the bay. The bathroom was large and also sparkling clean. The bed was spacious and comfortable. Linens and pillows added to a good night of sleep. Frédérique was very kind and friendly. She provided tips on where to walk and offered suggestions on pubs for dinner and music. Breakfast the next morning was ample and delicious and cooked to order. This is such a wonderful lodge and Clifden is a delightful town with much to offer. We were on our way to the Aran Islands and immediately regretted that we weren’t staying longer. We can’t recommend this lodge enough! I hope we return someday!

Beautiful views and room, lovely host

Stunning scenery at the door step, white sandy beaches, aqua blue, pristine waters and imposing mountains. Lovely stay in Clifden Bay Lodge ; delicious freshly cooked breakfast . Frederique was a welcoming informative host with exemplary hosting style. Stayed last weekend on a wild stormy weekend with breath-taking Atlantic views  and comfortable chic warm accommodation. A lovely property and beautiful French touch to the décor. Highly recommended . R & P
