This is a 3 star, older hotel but offers some amazing accommodation in the main building. Our room was more like a suite. Very comfortable,  quiet night looking out on the treetops and Galtee mountains. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Food was lovely.

This is a wonderful hidden treasure! We only stayed one night but would love to go back. The hotel is situated in a beautiful forest in the middle of nowhere. The rooms are lovely. Our room looked out over an evergreen forest with holly trees and beautiful plants. The dining room and bar were welcoming and the food was delicious. We stayed in the hotel but there are also several 3 bedroom lodges which I imagine fill up when they have a destination wedding there. 

Excellent  hotel stunning views watch out for the sharp bend on way up 😉 lovely food great staff breakfast  self service so best too get there early for freshness all in all myself and partner loved in will return 

Excellent staff and gorgeous food. One young woman Megan, absolute 10/10 never seen such a dinger, served me breakfast lunch and dinner seemed to work all day long, say the pay isn’t great. Didn’t need instruction, man with grey hair seemed to be only management, sat around drinking coffee all day. Hotel is run by this lady. 

This is our 2nd time having this Family get together of 55 Guests at Aherlow
From the time we booked we got great cooperation and help from the Management Team 
On Arrival we were offered Tea/ Coffee and Cookies in a very pleasant and warm Lounge Bar Area
We then proceeded for Lunch and from there on we got great Service and Food from the Restaurant staff
Adam in particular ensured everything went like clockwork 
After Our delicious Meal we retired to the Bar to once again receive great Service and attention
For all this we are grateful as we are assured that everybody that attended are looking forward to next year

Delicious afternoon tea with a fine view of the Galtees in a very comfortable dedicated room. Super selection of scones, sandwiches, savoury nibbles and desserts. Very impressive professional service from the friendly waiters - all our demands for extra pots of tea and special coffees were met with a smile. We had 3 generations present and everyone had a lovely time. . 
Fantastic value too at €22 per adult and €12 per child. Beats the Cashel Palace and Adare Manor on that front. 
Highly recommended. 

On a short break to savour the autumnal beauty of the beautiful Glen of Aherlow, I called to Aherlow House Hotel for lunch. The service was friendly and efficient and the overall atmosphere of the bar/dining area was relaxing and welcoming.  I really enjoyed the tasty lunch of goats cheese with beetroot salad so much so that it was easy to decide where to have lunch the following day and I was well-pleased with my choice.  The main course of roast beef with all the trimmings was delicious in every way.  Presentation, taste, quantity, quality were all perfect.  All the while being surrounded by friendly chat among staff and welcoming chat with fellow guests.  I could not recommend Aherlow House Hotel more highly.  I certainly will be back!

Kind and friendly staff top class service. Food was delicious our afternoon tea was quaint- just perfect, with a perfect selection, a beautiful setting!

We celebrated our wedding in Aherlow House Hotel. And we just loved every minute of it. We stayed the night before in the lodges and they are fab so cosy well equipped I would highly recommend these for a family break. The food in the hotel was beautiful and all of the staff go above and beyond. Can't wait for our next visit.

Excellent food in a nice location.
Good menu with lots of choices for adults and children. There ate lots of walks and more to do around the hotel.
 Highly Recommended for food and drinks with quality food and a big choice as already said. Our visit was mid werk in July and it was busy

Love this old charm hotel …beautiful scenic views - food v v v tasty and staff very friendly..only let down is breakfast would prefer options than a full Irish- no fruit & all self service. 
Food in bar excellent- huge portions and so tasty, staff extremely friendly and helpful. 
Rooms are dated but adds to charm of hotel

Weekend destination

We stayed 1 night here myself my husband and my 4 year old. My positives: the views are absolutely stunning, there are some beautiful near by walks ranging from 2km -11km, the service was wonderful I couldn't fault the staff they were all so friendly and welcoming, the food in the bar was fantastic we had the beef, the steak and goujons all were gorgeous! My negetives: the rooms were outdated, we had a basic room where the view on both windows was of a wall, the spoons at the tea and coffee tray were also dirty (must say the rest of the room was clean and provided soap, shower Gels and shampoo) the breakfast was just OK, the toaster was broken on one side so the wait for toast was long, we made our own coffee from a machine which was fine but overall taking these things into consideration I felt it was overpriced. Would stay again all the same due to the location and the staff.

I'm visiting from the UK and had a wonderful experience and meal at aherlow. the service was excellent but I was very impressed with the lovely staff especially a Young man I think his name was luke. he was so polite and very chatty and made us feel very welcome especially my young daughter.she took a real shine to him..he has excellent customer service

Hospitality and Old World Charm

The setting for the lodges is very scenic, isolated , with great walking/ hiking trails. The superior lodge had 3 double bedrooms all en suite. Balcony off 1 bedroom mountain view , really nice, the balcony itself has seen better days as the wood hasn’t been treated in years same as the downstairs decking area, it’s falling apart. The whole lodge needs a revamp, the privately owned lodges look really good with new balconies installed & the exterior newly painted.
We ate & drank in the hotel sitting out on the open air space, the weather was fabulous as was the choices on the menu, it changed a few times over our 3 day visit, but was excellent food

Review of the lodges

Stunning location, very comfortable room, great food. Unfortunately rather let down by somewhat chaotic restaurant/bar service.  Staff were lovely but a bit disorganised. We enjoyed our stay but there’s some room for improvement.  Saying that, would definitely stay here again to enjoy some more of the lovely walks.
