Excellent meal in McMunns tonight. I had the mussels and monkfish delicious. Others in our group sampled the mushroom soup and the duck breast again excellent. Add to that attentive and friendly service all adding up to a very enjoyable night with friends.

Great Food

A nice welcome when we arrived. Our room was spacious with a beautiful shower which was the best shower I had on our mini tour of Ireland. The food was also the best that we had on our travels. The view from the front of the pub was beautiful with the Atlantic ocean and the cliffs. all the staff were friendly and polite. Given a menu the day before so you could choose your breakfast in advance was a good idea. There was a very good selection of things for breakfast. This was a little bit pricier than we had been paying in other hotels and B&Bs but in the long run I wouls say it was worth it.
we will be back there on our next tour next year.

Lovely accommodation overlooking the Atlantic

We had initially booked into The Marine Hotel a couple of doors down, however they advised us of an error on Booking.com’s website and had to cancel (not open midweek). They were then kind enough to book us into McMunn’s on our behalf and we had an excellent stay. 

Modern rooms and decor, friendly accommodating staff and great food. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent Stay & Great Location.

McMunn's is the best place to stay in Ballybunion. It's an historical, charming pub & restaurant with fantastic rooms that give the best views of the Atlantic. The food & service is excellent & we were treated like family by the lovely Una. You're a minute's walk from the beach, bars & shops, yet somehow secluded from noise at night. Try book the front rooms with huge balconies. We spent last night, after a delicious dinner, sitting on our balcony, wine in hand watching the film Shrek on a huge screen set up in their beer garden across from the hotel while the sun sank into the Ocean as a backdrop. This morning, (Sat) after a great breakfat,we went into the beer garden to pick up fab treats at the community market & bought some gorgeous stuff from the Hairy Potter! We love McMunn's & its wonderful people. We've stayed in most hotels in Ballybunion & they're all fine, but this one's special.

If only home was like this!

Every step of the way from check in to check out was warm, friendly and helpful. The place was super busy but whenever we needed anything we were treated with a smile and a can do attitude with an honest open transparent assessment of the situation and then follow through. Greg’s food was top notch. Get one of the two rooms at the front with ocean views and balcony’s if available.

Owner Una was the best host ever.

This place is a hidden gem.Both myself and my husband often go to Ballybunion but this is the first time we have ever eaten or stayed here.
From start to finish,Una made us feel very welcome,taking the time to chat to us.
The staff were very efficient during our meal.
Rooms were cosy and well kept.
A modern well run hotel

Pleasant stay

4 of us stayed in this great property on a recent golf trip. Street parking available right outside and the wonderful beach is only 100 yards from the front door. Accommodation was modern and spotlessly clean. The bar was cosy,  the restaurant and menu was first class. The friendly efficient staff was the cherry on the cake. We will be back 👏👍

Great value in a fabulous centrally located property right across the road from the beach.

Ballybunion is a hidden gem in a country already filled with so much beauty. Even better, it’s warm and friendly! On my first trip to Ireland we spent a few days in Ballybunion, staying at McMunns. It’s a restaurant and pub with accommodations upstairs. It’s the perfect combination to make you feel right at home. Upon arrival you can grab a Guinness to take to your room, stop downstairs for a bite to eat or pre-order breakfast for quiet dining early morning. Greg, Una and the rest of the staff make you feel as if you are part of their family or lifelong friends. It’s not touristy and promises to give you the flavor of a lovely local community. If you are lucky enough to get one of the rooms with a balcony facing the ocean, you’ll get amazing photos of the sunset. I highly recommend this cozy little spot when looking for accomodations!

1st trip to Ballybunion

I stayed in McMunns a couple of weeks ago, having been brought by some friends who go golfing in the area every year. They have stayed here every year- and I understand why. Lovely redecorated rooms, great food, a wonderful atmosphere and above all else fantastic staff. I have already rebooked for next April!

Great place to stay, eat or just have a couple of pints

I am a regular in Mc Munns and it never disappoints. Greg, Una and the staff always give their guests a great welcome and always take the time to chat with all. The food is unrivalled in Ballybunion and the revamp of the bedrooms has turned out very well.
