The Railway Inn is a fine little place if you want assistance or help in any way it's there, however, if you just want to be left alone with your thoughts this too is fine. Breakfast was nice and a nice dinner, I can absolutely say hand on heart I was happy with my stays and will use it every time as it's nicely positioned for fishing, access to the town of Cong from The Quiet Man movie with its beautiful castle, Galway and Castlebar

Very nice place very helpful even got a bigger room could not do enough to help breakfast was A1 only 10 minutes away from cong and 30kph away from knock in the middle of every thing will be back if your in ballinrobe give it a go

Great value accommodation with surprisingly good quality food. Set in the Cornmarket, Ballinrobe, on the road to Headford and Galway, this basic but comfortable hotel provides self-catering and en-suite accommodation a few minutes’ walk from town centre. Note that some of the rooms can be very small. The Railway Inn provides a restaurant, a shared lounge and free WiFi and is just a short drive from the three main lakes that are such a big part of the area- Lough Corrib, Lough Mask and Lough Cara, all great for fishing and boating

. A self-service breakfast is provided from 8am to noon and carvery lunch with daily specials are then available until about 3pm. The cabbage and bacon is a personal favourite. The nearest airport is 55 km away at the Ireland West Knock Airport, Knock, Co Mayo.

In fact I met some friends, who had stayed overnight, for lunch here. They were quite happy with a comfortable quiet room, and excellent value. However the real joy was lunch. Basic peasant food with bacon and cabbage a favourite followed by trifle.

The highlight was a copious lunch

I guess if one is looking for tasteless food then you have found if. Very cheap meal then again you get what you pay for. Food was hot but not what I'm used to. Coffee was good but could of being hotter. Cash only of which no signage at the entrance warned you of this. 
Would I go there again, NO, I would rather eat at home.
