Green Bowl Bali Homestay

Wonderful setting... peaceful with lots of nature surrounding the property. It has a kitchen with a gas stove and refrigerator. Fully equipped with plates, cups, utensils, pots/pans and a kettle. There's a dining table in the private garden. The bathroom has a full size tub and a huge hot water heater ensures plenty of hot water for a nice bath. It's outdoors, covered by a mesh net, with orchids growing on the walls and planted with ferns/bamboo. The owner has installed wooden wind chimes that enhance the serenity of this place which is surrounded by lush trees that swoosh with a lullaby of peace and tranquility. There are plentiful birds, crickets and geckos.... paradise. It's only a 10 minute scooter ride to town or the beach. There are plenty of restaurants nearby as well. The staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful. The owner came to pick me up at the airport for a very late flight arrival (2330 hours), and gave me a rundown of the area, teaching me a few words in the local language and telling me about the ceremonies and festivals that were going on. It was a real pleasure to stay here. Above all else, I recommend homestay b/c it ensures your tourist money goes directly into the hands of the people supporting the local economy and not corporations. Staying here gave me a much better connection to the land and the beautiful people than if I had stayed in some fancy hotel.
