I have been coming to Mai Malu for 3 years and is just like coming home! Putu, Wayan and family will always ensure you are comfortable, but still give you privacy. I always stay in the upstairs room which is more than spacious and comfortable (this year they even added a small bar fridge.. awesome!). The atmosphere is lovely with chirping birds, koi pond and the family (and spa gals) who are always happy/smiling/laughing. It's a super cool and friendly vibe, especially nice for solo travelers (like me). The price is RIGHT too! Breakfast included and some rooms have AC. The bed is super comfortable and the WIFI is really good (very important for me as I work on the road and also like to stream movies at night). The evenings are quiet, which is amazing, considering you are steps away from the BEST street for restaurants in Ubud. Cannot beat this location! Goutama Street has everything from thai, to sushi, to curries, fusion, raw food, cafes, you name it! You barely need to leave the street! The Palace and other attractions very close walking distance and the shopping on Hanoman is the best. Wayan also provides airport transport and attraction tickets onsite, one stop shop. Highly recommend!!!
