Today we went to visit the three houses on the tree. The worst place there was in Bali. We arrived and were charged for parking. Then we took the path to reach the three houses and take some pictures. The view is really beautiful, nothing to take away, but the staff working there is of an arrogance and scrupulousness never seen before. As soon as we arrived they stopped us to pay the beauty of 75,000 rupees per person to take pictures strang instagram on the stairs of the house with their camera. I politely refused to claim to be a qualified photographer and want to take pictures alone with my cell phone. It is a public place not to be taken away, but the staff working there is of an arrogance and scrupulousness never seen before. It's very negative.

Staying at the tree house is my dream,but i cam here just for visiting,not staying here.there are more than one tree house in nusa penida,the most visited one is molenteng tree house.you can stay here or just visit without staying here.it is close to atuh beach.i visited it last year in June.it was a memorable experience for me, you have to pay entrance fees,and some tree house occupied by residents,so when visit here,pls respect them.you can climb up to the house,taking IG pics,admiring the incredible view.though not sure next time i will stay here or not,still recommend molenteng tree house to  everyone who love trying something new.

Molenteng Tree house

First arriving and you realise how you are on the edge of a cliff. You are then told you must walk down very dangerous stairs to get to the tree houses. Once down the area is filled with rubbish and burning plastic, plus the bathroom is shockingly bad also. The ladder to the tree house is used constantly for photos by people who haven’t paid to stay there. You also have to pay for photos unless you go after the staff leave. Inside is just a mattress on the floor and a fan. We left our bags to go and climb back up the cliff side before it got dark as they have no lights. Once we had eaten and had to use our phone torches to get back to the tree house I saw a few bugs but upon further inspection realised the place was infested and we couldn’t stay the night there. So we had to hike out in the dark with our bags. We informed the owner and he seemed to already be aware of the issue and put us in his uncles room which resembled that of a prison cell. We asked to leave in a taxi as early as we could which he then charged us 350K for but we didn’t really have any other choice. The driver who picked us up was quite possibly the worst driver I have ever been in a car with. I genuinely feared for mine and my friends life as he drove at 90mph on cliff edges whilst almost hitting oncoming traffic. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Yes the view is nice but there are many other great views around the islands.

BED BUGS EVERYWHERE

Unbelievable beauty! You are trully in paradise here and One of the best panoramic view in nusa penida! The treehouse here are perfect for the IG worthy photos! It will take 5-10minutes trek, but its definitely worth the sweat!

Incredible view

You don't think you'll find this beautiful camera down there when you start the descent. The surroundings are very barren but the view is very nice. I wouldn't book a night here.

Unspectacular from above but really great in photos

Unbelievable view!!! A magical place to watch the sunrise, wake up with that breathtaking view was really special. An unforgettable experience.
During your whole stay someone will be at your doorstop taking pictures, even at night or early morning like 6am. In my opinion they should close the access for tourists 5pm an reopen 8am, so the guests who paid for the experience could enjoy the place. The bathroom is shared and outside, you need to use a light to go there because is really dark. One night is enough.

Unbelievable view

It's an incredible stay, a glimpse into our lives. Tree houses are, of course, sparsely equipped, but that's not what this stay is all about. In the morning, just before 6:00, you'll be awakened by the tourists who pose on the stairs of the houses and pretend for Instagram that they're their homes. We can still recommend it to everyone for one or two nights, you won't regret it.

I’m going to start of saying I wasn’t sure about this one be but it looked good in the photo. ( sound familiar?)
Turns out this is one on the best things I have ever done. I loved it. 
So I book to stay in the “Tree House” easily a few months in advance. I rented a bike to get there but alternatives are you can book a driver on a bike or a driver in a car. If you go it alone like I did then Google Maps will be your best friend.  I took the coast road and this was a great choice as the road is good for the whole trip except for about 2.5km. I have taken the inland road about a year prior and it was slow going. The only thing I’d say about riding a bike is that it’s not for beginners. Also no matter what anyone tells you, unless you have a valid international motor cycle licence - you are on your own if anything happens. 
So I arrive at Rumah Pohon about 10am without realising that I was supposed to check in after 2pm. Anyway I get a “Tree House” key and a toilet key. The guy on the desk says take the one in the middle and walk down the steps. I go down the 176 stairs and arrive to see 3 huts and a toilet block. I was so disappointed that mine wasn’t the hut that I saw on heaps of photos but the one next to it. ( more about that later) 
Now I climb the steep stairs and get to the door and open it up to find a smallish hut with a double bed, ( fitted sheet) two towels, a fan so there is power, an outside and inside light and two big blankets. 
The toilet block has a flushing western toilet, with toilet paper and a cold shower.
I managed to get phone reception as I have a local SIM card but it dropped out quite a few times but was happy to be able to get news and send messages.
Now it seems that the Tree House you see on all the photos is not or maybe never occupied as people took photos all day standing on the steps of the room. If you happened to be lying down like I did during the day - you would never get any rest. The first photo hunters come this morning at 6.10 am. The only reason I know is that I got up to go to the loo. 
But here’s one of the things that made my stay brilliant. I was out looking at sights most of the afternoon and got back about 5 pm. 
I bought a few Bintangs took them down the steps and sat on my porch a simply admired the incredible view. As the sun was setting everyone left and I decided to move to the photo/ instagram hut. I played some acoustic covers through Spotify and if ever there was a peaceful 90 or so minutes it was then. Omg I can’t describe how serine the view, the light music and of course the Bintang. 
This experience would of been so built for a couple( just saying) as I was travelling solo.
It was a bit weird that I was the only person down there last night - but somehow felt safe.
I watched a movie on my laptop and drifted off to sleep. Had to put earplugs in as the waves crash on massive cliffs all night and I can imagine how loud it would be if the swell was big. The earplugs worked a treat. 
Dinner is available up the hill till 7.30pm but I was so stuffed from climbing stairs all day both at the Tree House and Atuh Beach I never made it up for dinner. I did have water and snacks which saved me the trip.
I’m scared what this place will look like in a year or two as they are already clearing big chunks of land on the next cliff. 
A note to the photo takers as I watched them for a good part of the day. Take 5 or so photos and move on. I saw two girls at the photo hut for an hour. This seems to be happening at all the “ Well known” photo spots not to mention the swings in the Gili Islands but I digress. 
A final word is that this experience and the surrounds (steps everywhere) are for the moderately fit. If you happen to be carrying a leg injury for instance you may need a bit of support.

A million dollar view for 50 bucks

The owner was very helpfull & attentive. They also have flying foxs there. The view from my room is very gorgeous, sunset & sunrise so beautifull from there.. thank you for the owner he's name SINAR has been arrange my holiday to be memorable.. ❤

The best owner & place to see sunset&sunrise

Came here because of the famous picture of the girl sitting on the stairs of the house facing the amazing view. 

We weren't hotel guest, upon arrival there are vultures standing there collecting entrance fee IDR10k/pax, the fee comes together with the Thousand Island View (I can count the number of islands and I still have fingers to spare).

There are stairs lots of it, big stairs (my thighs are crying again). There are ropes that you can hold at the stairs but some of it is loose so becareful. 

Well, my pictures weren't as nice as the one's online, so be prepared to snap a lot or don't keep your hopes too high. There is really not much to see, no place to chill, there's a tiny hut at the end of the path but it's filled with people sitting there.
